I’m looking for a new android browser with more privacy. Has anyone tried Bromite?
Bromite was my go-to browser, but it’s dead. No updates since December, no active development, and not responses from the dev. If you want to use bromite, one of the contributors had keeping the patches up to date. You can find the releases on this GitHub repo
Mull all day, pretty much librewolf for your phone!
Edit: Bromite is basically not a thing anymore, closest would be Vanadium
i use mull + Privacy Browser https://f-droid.org/app/com.stoutner.privacybrowser.standard
pB is easier to tweak on the go for sites i don’t use regularly
Thanks, just installed it
I kind of wish it support cookieautodelete, like in iceraven. Otherwise it is a perfect browser.
you can purge cookies automatically on exit
But there are some site that I don’t want to purge cookies, and realistically most people don’t really click the exit button on mobile.
you are on a community about privacy. “most people” is not a valid argument here :)
This
Mull is good and available on fdroid
I’ve been using Mull since it was suggested and it’s great!
I’m really glad you enjoy the experience. Just make sure to get ublock origin running ;)
I tried it but was a little disappointed tbh. It only supports 60Hz so it stutters on my two Android devices with 120Hz display and its just pretty basic in terms of settings. I do need a speed dial or something like that so I have all my bookmarks on the home screen but Bromite doesn’t have that (unless there’s a setting for that now).
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad browser at all. It just doesn’t fit my needs.Edit: I just found out about a fork of Bromite which is called Cromite.
I’d recommend the tor browser, it’s on the guardian project official releases repository on fdroid.
