    Fucking no, man. Jesus Christ. Everyone in this thread has some hard on for preserving the fashion industry. It doesn’t get a pass. It should be abolished. Destroyed. Removed from the world. Stop trying to fix it and start trying to destroy it.

    You also forget that fashion has a big influence on wider culture. If racism is accepted there, it will seep into wider culture from that front.

    And I’ll repeat myself yet again. Get rid of it. It has influence because we allow it to exist.

    Yes. She is at fault. She made a choice. She wasn’t born a fashion model. This isn’t some LGBTQ+/BIPOC issue despite what the article would have you believe. It is OK to say that she has some blame in her situation. And she’s only 21! She still has time to get things right. She can still find another way to provide for herself. Shit. If anything, people like you saying that she can’t do anything but model because that’s all she’s done are the misogynists. I bet she’d be just fine in another field.

    People deserve the consequences of their choices. It wasn’t like she got into the industry and then it suddenly turned racist, sexist, and shitty over night. If you’d read the article, you’d see that there is a history of this, and it’s a shitty article with a limited scope. Imagine if you’d have done any real research into it before talking all this shit. Maybe you’d see that I’ve been right all along. An asshole, sure. But a right one.

      Ahhh okay. So just destroy an entire industry just because you don’t like it. Gotcha. That sounds totally reasonable.

      So let’s put that mix at mostly elitist, but also racist because you somehow believe this woman’s issues with racial discrimination can be brushed aside simply because of the industry she works in.

      Hey, while we’re at it let’s destroy the music industry too. It’s not strictly needed for human advancement. The movie industry can go too. Heck, all acting roles must go!

      In all seriousness, you’re crazy if you think the entire destruction of industries is the way to solve this. You are not right, you are insane. The fashion industry has existed for literal millennia. So long as people want to express themselves with clothing, it will always be a thing. There is no reason it has to go hand in hand with racism, and it can be reformed.
