A CBS News investigation found at least a dozen natural disasters in the United States during the last decade where local emergency officials failed to issue alerts in time to save lives or, in some cases, didn't issue an alert or evacuation order at all. National investigative correspondent Stephen Stock reports.
My understanding of what happened with the Maui fires is that they didn’t have a fire alert system, just a tsunami alert system, and they didn’t activate it because they didn’t want to cause people to flee inland towards the fire.
Is that not correct?
I believe they were talking about the nuclear strike alert incident.
I totally forgot about that.
