When you need to upload a photo to a photo hosting site through a browser, the system file manager opens. When choosing a photo for editing, this also happens through the file manager built into Android. Is there a way to force applications to open my preferred file manager instead of the system one?

Settings. Type File in the settings search box. 'Files By Google, select that, brings you to the app info, then disable it. No the Google file manager should be disabled.

If an App called just Files appears in the search box as well. Select that and go to the app info and disable/uncheck “Open Supported links” .

That should disable the Google and the Android file managers.

Try Solid Explorer. I also use a FM called Root Explorer, but you don’t need to have root to use it. I’ve been on both for 5+ years. Good luck.
