    I agree its disgusting there’s not more transparency on both.

    But according to the article, this is not a stat either - its technically an estimate from the DOJ.

    One estimate from the U.S. Department of Justice suggests that police officers kill between 25 and 30 dogs every day, resulting in an annual total of approximately 10,000 dog deaths. This estimate is based on anecdotal evidence and may not fully capture the true scope of the issue[1][3][5].

    The reason there are no stats is because there’s no centralized reporting requirement, so a bunch of police departments just don’t report.
