I went back to #Windows for now you guys. I just can't. Every. Single. #Linux. Distro. has some kind of hardware issue. First it was the sound not adjusting with the GNOME volume slider. Then it was packages not being available in rpm or flatpak, and I'd have to spend forever finding a tutorial to compile from source. Then it was firefox having video stutter issues. Then I switch to Mint and I can't adjust screen brightness for no reason.
Constant headaches. Windows just works.
all that and Linux SUCKS for laptop battery life. It halved my battery no matter the distro.
Call me a conspirator or whatever you want, but this seems like a “under-the-carpet” cope – “I can’t/won’t bother learning how to configure Linux, so I’ll throw a fit, raise a baseless assumption about it and move on to my safe bubble, i.e Winblows.”. Because even if it does have lack of better options for battery – it does have lots of user control. Which you should prioritize over being “spoonfed” by the system. Specially in times like these that anyone can track your device even if it is turned off thanks to bluetooth.
I’m not really throwing a fit. This reads very passive aggressive and moderately offensive. Please don’t make assumptions about my character to soapbox about Linux. I gave Linux a very firm solid handshake trying multiple distros over the course of several months. I didn’t just “throw a fit” and “not bother learning.” Jesus, dude, that comes off as hella rude for no reason.
