Hi, I use linux mint and recently installed a bunch of desktop environments, and I think that it might have caused this issue. How do I fix this? I want to avoid resetting, but if there isn’t a solution, I can. This does not occur in another distro, or another kernel, but occurs in other desktop environments.

How exactly is it messed up? what is the touch pad device called? (Laptop model, USB vendor id, whatever you’ve got) what environments are you using? Are you using X or Wayland?
