A lot of people around me tend to parrot that a lot of the safety measures are not for explosives detection, but for drug trafficking prevention. I’ve always disagreed because nobody ever presented any evidence to it, and the measures in place do come from explosive detection (unless they have metal drugs now idk). But I’ve wondered whether there is some truth to it.

I would campaign for fifteen dollars to be written as 15$. The other way around makes no sense. Dollars is the unit, and you say “fifteen dollars” and not “dollars fifteen”. That we landed on the backwards convention is a travesty.

Sure, 15$ wouldn’t get me far, but it’s a start!

Man, same on the point about YouTube shorts ruining my attention span. The only thing keeping me from an addiction, I feel, is a feeling of guilt when watching shorts instead of long form content.

Whenever I do watch long form content it ends up being more fulfilling and entertaining, too, so I have no idea why our brains are so biased towards short form content.

Man, I was enjoying Deus Ex, but I ended up dropping it halfway through. It wasn’t even a decision to do so, I just stopped playing due to being busy and being in a frustrating part in game (I don’t even remember where or why, last I actively remember is Hong Kong, I think, but I don’t think I dropped it there). I met a girl in a flight and thought we got along well, but she was only in a layover flight while I was in the last flight of my trip. Still, we kept in touch, and she’s apparently coming to my city for a few days in two weeks.

So I did something I had never done before (even though I’ve been in a few relationships before) and asked her out! She said “maybe” (her trip was already planned and she is busy and staying with some friends, she seemed genuinely sorry) so in two weeks I may have a date :)

Can I take this opportunity to ask what the hell “adopting” a book means?

Adding to this comment: Science is fundamentally agnostic. You can even go so far as to say that the existence of God or a higher power is the one question which is forever doomed to be unanswerable by science and logic, almost by definition of God.

Of course, specific parts of the mythos of specific religions can and have been contradicted by science. But the main question of whether or not a higher power exists remains and will forever remain unanswerable.

Minecraft, I tried summoning and defeating the Wither and was woefully unprepared. The entire world near the fight was filled with craters from the explosions. I was getting ready to throw the entire world away. Then I decided to just cheat and turn Creative Mode on for 1 second, the Wither disappeared and I was able to continue playing, now with PTSD.

It didn’t help that I was playing on Bedrock (switch), which apparently has a much more difficult fight than in the Java edition.
