12·6 months agoWell, if other people and things don’t exist then it’s your brain creating your perception of reality. The physics of your world is consistent, You can test that. If reality is something your brain is making up, it would have to calculate the physics of everything you perceive instantly and constantly. It can’t do that.
If it could, how would YOU, the consciousness that is experiencing this made up reality, ever struggle with something like a math problem? It’s the same brain. The sheer scale of everything happening around you, how would your mind possibly calculate it as you experience it.
How would your mind know how something hot like a coffee should cool down depending on the temperature around it and the container it’s in and how that heat will affect things around it.
If this reality is real, it’s not being calculated, it’s happening, everywhere all the time. If it’s fake it has to be calculated or simulated for you. If your brain can’t simulate it, then it’d have to be something like a super computer quantum singularity thingamajig. If that’s doing it, then who created the computer?
If reality is real, then people are real. If reality is fake then people have to be real.
Out of context you’re right, but most of the time when you open a weather app you’ll get a more detailed view where you can see, in this example, that 29 is the high and 16 is the low for the day with 13 being the current temperature. Once you look at that one time you would know what these numbers are in this shortened view.
3·7 months agoIt can, and it looks quite good. It doesn’t have the finger tracking that valve’s has but it still plays fine.

Early or late, they’re hardly ever on time anymore. It also feels like they’re going the way of Google and starting to abandon projects.
So what happens to, for example, the HP reverb g2?

I think a lot of the lemmy userbase are at least somewhat techy (also see the Linux communities), and a lot of techy people like Star Trek.

Yep, I didn’t explain that well in my first comment. But if they’d just implement that I wouldn’t have any real reason to not use Joplin instead.
I like Joplin too. My only issue is that the developer is weirdly against implementing any kind of encryption or password protection suggesting that users should do that on their end (at least last time I looked).
So I ended up using QOwnNotes which has this feature. But I can’t put that on my android phone so I’ve got this stupid setup with obsidian on the phone, QOwnNotes on my pc and resilio sync keeping it all synced.
Is the statement they’re quoting incorrect?
