It’s worded poorly, the article is saying that he maintained the “normal weight” of 180 pounds after he finished fasting and didn’t gain it all back again once he started eating.

So someone who is allistic is likely going to have very little issue with the “shirt is blue” and moving on with their day. Just because someone is allistic doesn’t mean they are neurotypical, the common implication otherwise is just a pet peeve of mine.
The fact that the vagueness of the statement bothers you this much suggests to me that you are talking about an autistic more than adhd trait but ymmv.
Missing social cues is adhd related. Not understanding implied social cues is more autism related. Many people with one have the other so it can be hard to separate them.
I think you may need to consider the cost and shelf life difference here. Suggesting “what if they just ate a more expensive vegetable more” seems like a pretty callous take.
I know they grow carrots in the phillipines but they definitely aren’t native to there either.
Isn’t there literally a German fairy tale about someone able to make straw into gold?
I do at least agree with her that she shouldn’t be a mother.
I understood it to mean they were in radio contact after the crash. Why even mention radio contact from before the crash?
It looks like he has chrome pinned to his task bar in the bottom left.
Seriously my adhd management system is basically “putting shit where I’ll trip over it” and then waiting to get sick of still deliberately stepping over/around the inconveniently placed item.
This is true of every artist scene eventually. The SoHo crowd from the 60s, the Beat generation in the 50s (North Beach and Greenwich village), Montparnasse in Paris in the 20s.
The artists of Rome where probably replaced in their neighborhoods by gentrification too, we just don’t have written proof. This isn’t some new fangled conspiracy. This is the cycle. Artists flock to cheap neighborhood and make it a famous cultural center with their art. Rich people want a piece of that atmosphere and move in eventually pricing out the artists they wanted to rub elbows with. Pretending this is a new phenomenon ignores the very nature of human society.
With this court the country might be better off without them weighing in. Those fucks are likely to make it so the whole country has even more hostile laws.
Some of the autoststems are dead ends too that hang up on you. When i run into those I’ve started just telling them I have a billing issue or that I need to purchase some additional product from them. The phone system will push you to a person really fast if they believe you’re buying something. Then the sales person can transfer you to the department you want to talk to rather than trying to navigate the maze of dead ends in some systems.
If I’m not doing something with my hands then I won’t be able to tell you what happened in the movie. Even if I was staring unmoving and quiet at the screen the whole time.
I don’t understand what kind of magic bullet people think a constructive discharge lawsuit is or what kind of powerful uno reverse card it would be. Winning a constructive discharge lawsuit is basically being legally fired instead of quiting…they’d probably get less from that lawsuit (not even counting the time and legal fees) than if they just accepted Apples package. What is a constructive discharge lawsuit supposed to do here?
If they are offering a relocation package, and it sounds like they are, then this likely doesn’t fall under constructive discharge. Also in CA a constructive discharge lawsuit often only makes you entitled to the same benefits as if you were fired (i.e. severance and unemployment). These guys aren’t being fired for cause so they still qualify for unemployment and the severance deal Apples offering is probably already worth more than many would get in a lawsuit. A lawsuits not gonna force Apple to move the office back.
I don’t know why everyone always jumps straight to “constructive discharge” and “this must be illegal”. Guys, we live in a legal hellscape, Apple may be being shitty but they aren’t doing anything illegal.
That’s the most common way I’ve heard it used in business settings. So it’s very audience dependant.
For those curious, it does appear that megatokyo may be getting updates but they’re infrequent, a few a month and not on a set schedule. There are like 9 chapters out now though.
I pay $5 a year for dropout even though I don’t watch all of their content enough to probably warrant it some months. I tend to binge D20 and Um, actually mostly. But they’re a good company, making good content, and trying not to exploit anyone in the process. We need more of that and I’ve been lucky enough I can afford the $5 a month sub.
Jerry Lee Lewis became fairly successful in Country after his Rock career faltered. Most country musicians still play the guitar rather than the piano though.
