I’m here for a meme time, up votes to the left thanks
"Here we stand, on the precipice of the unknown. As we all prepare to cross the Rubicon from school responsibilities to taxes and jobs, one thing holds true. We must be the best. Thousands of ancestors put us here to make the world better for the next generation, every time. And while some may have forgotten that, it comes down to each of us to take the wheel at some point and make the same hard decisions, even when they dress up as different problems. For this next graduating class, make the most. Shape it to be the Better Place you want to see.
Hope things get better for you OP, we’re all on mrbones wild ride together.
Holy shit is that a JoJo reference???
But I do actually like “Giorgio by Moroder”. It seems silly but it’s served me an inspiring monologue to try new things and find something I to be passionate about. And so I bought a few pairs of headphones and schiit amp/dac to see if music making was what I could be good at. It is not. But I found I loved listening to music on nice headphones, and got a pair of Grados to go with the dac/amp
Sorry I know you don’t care just wanted to praise the song lol
“You best start believing in dumb clubs, wrangler driver! YOU’RE IN ONE!”
Things do not exist in a bubble. If gaming can get away with taking your ownership of games, it will come to another industry next. Games are one of the most profitable industries in the world now, as much as people like to treat it as a “thing children do” - it is actively participating in writing the playbooks of other industries. People need to be made aware of the scummy shit the industry has gotten up to without any of the proper regulations to curb it.
When you say “fuck the rules” it means other players won’t obey them either. Thats the “find out” part of “fucking around”. You don’t get to quote UN resolutions to defend yourself with a moral high ground after using them as TP.
But still fuck these guys for shooting a church.
Right but in the dark you can only see a general area below you unless you’re already close to the ground. And even then all you have to do is…not be standing in the same place for hours at a time
Let’s say, for the sake of the argument, that I didn’t finish my veggies, but I wanted a second helping of ham.
Yeah what % of the population has blocked Threads, since World has opted to not pre-emptively defederate
I wasn’t sure if this joke was masterful writing, or bottom of the barrel.
Thats so unusual to hear tbh. But if the numbers back it up I mean shit I guess I’d be wrong lol.
Any particular reason why they swap so much now?
They don’t? Everyone in my family has had the same numbers over a decade. I realize this is anecdotal, but I feel like people keep numbers forever now that phones can move from carrier to carrier much easier. Used to be in the 90s and 00’s new carrier meant new phone and new number.
It’s not like all chrome is as sexy sleek as V or Rebecca.
There’s one lore pickup that sticks with me. It’s the “top employers” in Night City. The people who are employed by these 5 comprise the middle class.
Arasaka offers the lowest contractual obligation to work for at 20 years.
Biotechnica offers six vacation days a year (current Americans average 11 PTO days at 40 hours a week)
But the above is small potatoes when you read Nightcorp: ONLY(!) 80 hour workweek. For family focused people!
Not being pedantic but also as you walk around look at the lifestyles of the charachters. River and Judy are successful legally employed people, and look at their home situation. Their houses and how much chrome they afford. Their weapons comprise of the very basics. How much tech do they have that wasn’t illegally obtained or had their job pay it off? Judy works mosly with chrome as far as BDs go. River is ex-NCPD, and he only affords prosthetic arms that are reminiscent of Gorilla Arms but it doesn’t have skin or look great - they’re functional. In addition to a prosthetic eye that doesn’t even try to be humanlike, like V’s Kiroshi Optics.
The average citizen puts in an assload of work for their chrome and its hard to sustain yourself. I know they respawn but how many times do you just see Maelstrom on a sidewalk? How many out-and-about Valentinos? Most people can’t afford the nice chrome, or healthcare (as shown by David’s mom) and get by on their bills through theft or violence. Maelstrom chrome is a hack job. Rebecca funded all her work through being part of a successful criminal enterprise. Maine being the reason they even have the connection and payments with Faraday. Compare the Edgerunners chrome to the average Tyger Claw, and it’s easier to see that they are the ideal gang, not the average.
I know a guy who works on Pinball machines as his profession. He sells em too.
Really enjoyed Skylab that he repaired. Seeing the way Electromechanicals run everything so…binary…is fascinating
People were so happy MultiVersus happened, failing to realize the sheer acquisitions and monopolistic behaviour it takes to own so many IPs. How, when weaponised, it commands so many big names.
And now it’s not working for people, because they’re pulling the shows from PS.
The ps5 and Switch will probably be my last consoles. I will just find ways yo mod the Switch when support dies for it to keep games on the go, and when psn is cut for ps5 that will be it. PC will be my way forward. I won’t put up with this “pay for internet twice and still not own your games” stuff after these generations.
Attempting to get a date in the current US scene was hard enough without this petty bullshit. While it was certainly disheartening to see another one slip away, knowing I was dodging a bullet was worth the time. I did enjoy (only once) getting “ugh green bubbles? Srs?” And sliding back “yeah sorry I have a Fold#, iPhones r for brokies” and blocking the contact
(People are free to own iPhone and you’re free to make your own descicions or debate the merits of android/iphone, I am more just intolerant of the fan elitism - not iPhone owners in general, hope you have a nice day)
I’m in the 0.1% for a guy with 200 monthly listeners. I’m just glad to be part of the crowd.
A good place reference? In 2024?
