Just switched after seeing how much of my Steam library I could play on my Deck. Just have to switch back for BF5 sometimes and I don’t miss Windows at all. Very nice experience.
Cracking encryption gets easier over time. This is a timebomb.
Kinda disagree here, my parents also won’t install Windows or any other OS by themselves. An average person isn’t going to switch to an alternate OS. Because they do not care.
An average person however IS going to want that specific Windows only mail client, legacy applications that don’t run on Linux or use their bank website that isn’t supported by Linux.
This is a one way ticket to making yourself the sole family sysadmin.
IT Crowd for me
Then again, rebuying all your games and paying way too much for them is something to take into account. But admittedly, the PS5’s thing where you can play some PS4 games is pretty neat.
Can you name them for me because I can’t seem to find them for sale in Europe. Apart from Axis.
It’s not about performance but compatibility. Such as certain anti-cheat software in online games.
If you have duplicate shortcuts you probably have the same OneDrive account on multiple computers. Put them on your public desktop in stead of your own OneDrive backed up desktop.
My cat, why the hell he sleeps quietly until my girlfriend goes to bed and right after that he gets the zoomies…
Sorry but I hate this argument. Most people use a phone for that anyway. And my 70 year old mom is going to ask my dad and if he can’t fix the problem someone else and guess what. They never worked with Linux. I can tell you that a lot of the buttons and controls have looked the same in Windows for way too long. Admittedly from Windows 10/11 this gets worse.
Also they will need software from the local photo place, some shit old legacy app that they refuse to let go, banking software that isn’t Linux compatible… it’s never “just browsing” from my experience and it’s not worth the hassle. Especially if I’m cornering myself by becoming the only 24/7 on-call admin for my family.
So is paying for car repair or a builder when a lot of times you can do it yourself and save money. But it’s not that simple. Time and effort are resources too.
In this case, when the whole familiy is involved and also taking into account that YT Premium also accounts for my work laptop and my phone I can easily understand why OP chooses to pay for YT Premium instead of more reasons to be the family helpdesk…
Lucky the Americans didnt’t get any shit for that at all…
I wish the warehouse workers would get a break…
I feel the same but I buy shit on Steam all the time. Probably because I can still play my old shit on there and I don’t risk having to buy every indie game several times because it isn’t compatible with the latest console.
Also, the pricing on console stores are ridiculous…
While I hate the videofication of everything as much as the next person. Looking at a regular website these days is even worse than YouTube with ads… Cookies bro? You want to subscribe? Can we send you browser messages?? Here are 10 ads that move the text around that you were just reading…
