If you want to get deals for the grocery store you need their app, cheaper deals for pizza, have to open the dominos/Pizza Hut app, I rarely go to Taco Bell, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, etc but they all want you to use their app to get access to their coupons and order things. Maybe their points all add up on their websites, would just have to save all the logins in a password manager. Kroger comes to mind because they now use in store prices, price with Kroger card, and price with coupon from mobile app. It’s crazy that that is allowed, but if they are going to charge 3.99 for a watermelon if you have the mobile app, and 6.99 regular, unfortunately I will cave and install the app.

I never would have remembered the old number, I believe they changed it to just 988 now. If making it an easy to access more memorable number that we grind into everyone’s brains and saves 1 extra person, it’s worth it. Hopefully it will save many who would have otherwise not been in the mental mindset to look up the help line

Anyone with half a brain should realize committing fraud against a bank hurts the people who use those banks… and insure those banks, and bail out those banks if they make bad investments, say to someone lying about the worth of their assets to lock in deals that when they are failed to be paid, like all his other bankruptcies filed, the bank is left with far less than anticipated, and then they have to raise fees/decrease interests paid out, charge higher interest rates or simply get a bail out from the Feds. All of those things effect the working class.

I normally don’t care for broad strokes like this either, but his statement was that every boomer with a bird feeder hated them, so it wasn’t all boomers. (So I’d say still broad, but a bit better than what you responded as them saying)

The U.S. never threatened to ban Tik Tok if you are talking about important nuance, they are banning foreign ownership, and it isn’t just for Tik Tok. This goes back to the original discussion that other countries doing something shouldn’t dictate whether local government doing something is right. It isn’t, well China banned foreign social media apps, it should be viewed as a stand alone issue on how it can/will effect our society moving forward regardless.

I think it’s more of people down voting because it is making light of the situation by trying to say their local government has already done it. Both are bad. People hate comparisons on here but it’s like saying someone murdered someone and then saying “well the police do it all the time.” They still commited murder, and that response comes as if it is a defense of their actions

They sprayed cornstarch on them, both piss and Taco Bell would be far worse. It is just about getting attention to people actually destroying the world, while not destroying anything. It would be cheaper and much easier to buy spray paint than to right cornstarch into a sprayable device… But that would cause damage, which they didn’t want.

Surely the people holding the most money paying near half the taxes they used to didn’t cause them to hold onto that money and drive more and more money up into their hands.

For capitalism to work there has to be strong legal bindings to taxing the rich and subsidizing the poor to make sure they don’t get steamrolled by the system.

We having been pumping the breaks for years on those responsibilities, and more and more people in turn will get steamrolled and forced into starvation, homelessness. The mental health rates being low are directly tied to money in the middle and lower classes.

If we made a rule that for every 10 people who committed suicide do to scarcity that the richest person would be killed as well, we would run out of rich people not trying to promote subsidizing the poor pretty quick and trying to get the happiness of the people up instead of only worrying about profits.

That’s crazy obviously… But we need healthier motivation to make the world a better place. That isn’t a healthy one.
