This is a little bit silly, that pretty clearly was a mistake, it also led to new ROE regarding the safety cordon around approved targets. Additionally Serbia was a combatant nation, that’s why embassies often evacuate nations involved in hostilities. Israel routinely attacks 3rd country targets, they struck with multiple weapons. Syria and Iraq are not parties to the current situation in Gaza. The idea that countries with governments or general population that are not in favour of the IDF massacre of civilians means almost every country is “involved” according to Israeli targeting doctrine.

Israel is making things difficult. The number of civilians killed is 10000+, that’s very uncomfortable for our governments. It’s also not like our countries can just quickly say, “whoa, those are blatant war crimes you’re committing with our weapons!” It’s impossible to pretend that we couldn’t know what the IDF would do with them based on the ongoing history of the conflict. In the end it’s a situation similar to Yemen, Iran and some others feed support into one side and atrocities are committed. The west feeds weapons into the other side and atrocities are committed. At this point the only thing that makes our ethical situation tenable is if everyone would just ignore it. Hence, no protesting please, you’re pointing out some deeply shameful policy, please stop.

It’s quite an obvious geopolitical win for them. It’s not hard to notice that the “western” reactions to the Russian occupation of Ukraine is pretty inconsistent with the support of the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Obviously support for Ukraine is the right thing to do, but again, inconsistent policy is easy to critique.

I am using Nobara, which is a Fedora based gaming distro. I definitely do not have to reboot for updates to software outside of system updates to the OS specifically. Updating Discord, Firefox, Steam, Heroic Launcher, Signal, etc does not require a reboot. Something sounds amiss. I am running straight Fedora on my Surface Pro and same story there, basically restart for system upgrades only.

I think it’s the “said no land Lord ever” bit. There’s a lot of investment property owners with hundreds of units that can be shady AF. It’s just tough to be the " I can handle this mortgage if I get a basement suite rented out and work really hard" and get lumped in.

I’m sure there is some cool technical stuff going on here, but I have always been confused as to why anyone wants to have their game simulate the symptoms of a concussion. Then again I am a lens flare tolerator, so what do I know.

I recently switched to Linux for my daily driver. I picked Nobara. It installed, detected my card, and installed drivers. Pretty straightforward. That said, performance isn’t the same. I have just been playing Elden Ring and I am getting the fps, but there’s some stutter and screen tearing even with VRR active. Also, ray tracing isn’t a default, you need to add some stuff to your Steam launch.

Overall if you are looking to switch, get a new drive and start Linux on that. Keep your old Windows setup. At least that worked for me. Now I only boot Windows to mod Skyrim since I haven’t gotten that ironed out in Linux.
