There’s no perfect solution, which is why we have a lot of options.
But in the category of “single use drinking containers”, all of the options besides glass carry with them more and worse externalities than what glass production and recycling carries. Which is why “having a lot of options” isn’t a positive in this case, it just means that a large part of the market is operating in a way that is more destructive to society than it needs to be.
We should really advance to “glass only” for single use containers (unless you have a really good reason to prefer plastic, like if it’s a medical product) and invest in the infrastructure to recycle them - a country can get up to a 99% recycle rate for glass if it puts the work in.
Yes glass is potentially less safe but my gut tells me that the risk of more broken glass is offset by the reduced air pollution and associated health risks.

Put simply, it was never really about transgender women, they were just used to create a psuedoscientific smokescreen around the same thing that misogyny has always been about: policing women’s bodies. If the patriarchy doesn’t consider you a woman, you don’t get to be one.
I wish conservatives were educated
In the old D&D fluff, kobolds are described as having “dog like faces”. They became lizard and then dragon people later, so I guess you could say that both versions of kobold are equally divergent from the original concept.
I did some napkin math on him when he first got famous, his giveaways represent a pretty small fraction of his yearly income before taking into account merch, restaurant licensing, etc. They seem huge but it goes to show how much a popular media personality can make if they are appropriately CEO-brained.
It’s been so corrupt for so long that we all just accept it. If we were studying ourselves from the outside, we might conclude that bribery is an openly accepted aspect of the American political system, comparable to how it was in the Roman one.
You would think that would make it a sure fire thing, but I feel like most reboots with the original crew still fall flat.
The interesting thing here is wondering why they never upgraded. Perhaps managing flights digitally just hasn’t changed much since the early nineties and they never needed anything else?
Kyle Gass apologized himself the day after.
What would have been best would be for them both to batten down the hatches and let it blow over, what JB did was needlessly escalate the situation. Even if his intentions are as you imagine them to be and the two are back on tour in a couple of months, but that can’t be taken as a given as you’re doing.
Every single thing you’re complaining about was implemented by game devs themselves, none were mandated by any DEI program. You say that you believe art has value and shouldn’t apologize for itself - and yet when you see the art current creators are making you recoil from it and say that it needs to be changed. You are exactly what you are accusing others of being.
Hurting Israel’s economy punishes them for hurting Gazans, even if it doesn’t directly stop them.
You seem to be under the impression that I don’t like political violence on principal. Not the case. I don’t like political violence that is on the side of perpetuating global empire, and I like political violence that is opposed to it. What you’re doing, by flattening all political violence into just “violence bad”, is a rhetorical tactic that promotes the status quo by demonizing all groups that fight against it.
The Houthis are fighting against the Saudi-backed puppet regime in North Yemen. They are not going to someone else’s country, ethnically cleansing the group that’s already there, and laying claim to it. They are enforcing a naval blockade in order to economically punish a country that is committing genocide, they are not perpetuating one themselves.
Part of the comment you responded to:
One of Israel’s ports is going bankrupt as a direct result of the Houthi blockade.
The Houthis are accomplishing something, and their real goals align with defeating the world’s hegemonic evil.
It does not.
One of Israel’s ports is going bankrupt as a direct result of the Houthi blockade. That might not be preventing Gazans from being murdered but it’s fucking something which is more than 99% of the world is doing.
The Houthis aren’t a perfect org, but US imperialism is the greater evil by far, and everyone who opposes it deserves at least critical support.
On the issue of student loan debt the president theoretically has the power to cancel federal debt unilaterally, but Biden himself is opposed to doing it which is why he’s never done it. Same reason why there’s no planned parenthood clinics on federal land or anything like that.
I drive between one and two hours on weekdays, and I spend another one to two hours walking my dog every day. I love them during those times.
Blow a fat cloud on someone else’s desk so their name pops up, bonus points if your teachers suck and blindly punish anyone whose name gets triggered.
