Hopefully the patent runs out soon…
I have a Sony Reader PRS-350 since 2011 and honestly the battery life never has been great. It’s discharging too quickly when powered off and even faster when on standby.
I can even nod and make “m-hmm” sounds where appropriate and still be somewhere completely different in my mind!
I really have to disagree with you! Some fundamentalist bigot groups within Christianity might want to murder you, sure. But the entire religion as such certainly wouldn’t.
When I look at my Pi Hole dashboard while my girlfriend’s Mac is booted, I’m surprised by how many requests are blocked, given that apple somehow has the reputation of respecting their user’s privacy.
And when she boots into Windows 10 MS’s data stealing gets downright creepy.
I am lucky enough not to have a Windows 11 PC on my network but I think I would see even more denied requests.
*surprised Pikachu*
Telling from my own experience, looking at your phone is not going to be helpful.
My advice would be to do something entertaining, but tiring. Like solving a sudoku if that floats your boat. Or reading. At least that’s what sometimes does the trick for me.
Would this work? And how does weed go together with Vyvanse? I’m hesitant…
» I wanted to enroll in Counter Strike studies, but now the lecturer only talks about theoretical mathematics and computers… *yawn* «
About a year ago I was lucky on eBay, winning an old Acer Switch Alpha 12 for ~95€ including shipping. I think it was released about 2016.
Even if it shows a lot of signs of wear, it is still a very good device. I received it with Windows 11, but of course I didn’t want use it like that. 4 gigs of ram aren’t enough for that anyway.
So I installed Fedora. (Had to rename the uefi boot entry for it to boot from disk. This is described elsewhere online but if you read this post and wonder how to do it, please dm me and I’ll be happy to help.)
Now this is my primary device for when I’m away from my desktop PC. Gnome is stunning on 2-in-1s IMO, much better than Windows would ever be.
Hardware wise everything works just fine out of the box, apart from the rear camera which isn’t recognized, but I wouldn’t use that anyway.
Honestly, the Switch Alpha 12 is the poor man’s MS Surface and I think it’s a shame that Acer has apparently given up on this device class. For now I’m happy to use this pc for as long as I can.
I use Recoleta (in the alternative version) for my personal stuff. I just like the look of it and it’s IMO good for both body text and headlines. I also like the slight 70s vintage style.
Something I sometimes do is to try to find a way to visualize their name in my imagination. This especially works for some last names. For example if the person you’re meeting is called John Miller I try to imagine that person working in a mill. So my brain has an image to stick to when trying to remember their name… Sometimes no good image comes to my mind though. Last names can be weird…
Doesn’t help. I’d have to ask again by then.
I never poop on either of my hands.
I want a mid-range phone with a great camera and a telephoto lens.
I don’t need no AI bullshit, I don’t do gaming, I don’t need 32 gigs of ram on a phone.
I just wanna take great pictures.
I used Beeminder and it really helped with keeping me going to the gym.
Unfortunately, the gym canceled the contract with my company fitness provider. So that’s that and I’m now procrastinating on finding a new gym.
But I really recommend finding tools to keep yourself accountable especially on recurring tasks like gym visits.
You may want to read into the concept of Commitment Devices.
I’ve recently started to take medication. While this does help with my ability to focus, I have the feeling it just doesn’t improve my memory. In my job I have to manage a lot of things and keep the details in mind. So I’m struggling and ask myself if I’m in the right business after all…
It’s a cruel world for us…
I have been diagnosed with ADHD and I don’t relate to this. Weird. When consuming posts in this sub there are some things that I do relate to and others I don’t.
Everybody’s ADHD appears to be different. Can anyone confirm this?
I use GPSLogger to create my monthly travel log for my employer. You can fine-tune it pretty well and it works almost as well as Google’s location timeline while not having to rely on Google’s appetite for personal data.
I use its built-in ssh upload feature to get my data transferred to my SBC at home.
