How did you get that from that? You said it sucks for entertainment, I said it doesn’t and you get from that that I can’t fathom not being on YouTube 24/7?
That sounds like a you problem, honestly. Tons of great channels out there for basically any interest. Do you just, like, only ever look at the front page without logging in? Like just at the absolute lowest common denominator clickbait stuff?
Infomercials are incredibly entertaining TV and I will stand by that statement
The thing that gets me is how little creators actually get per individual ad view. Now, collectively, with tens of thousands and millions of views, they get a good bag. But my watchtimes of that minute worth of ads per video? Literally nothing. A fraction of a cent so small it doesn’t exist. I could watch a creator semi-regularly for like 2 years and my contribution to their income by watching ads would be in the single digits. I give them two bucks over Patreon or something just once and that’s worth as much as me giving up hours upon hours of my life watching ads. Now, I can’t afford to give literally everyone I watch more than once a dollar or two. But I give some money here and there to a couple I watch a lot. To make up for my using an adblocker.
Honestly, I’d probably get YouTube Premium if it wasn’t fucking Google behind it.
Somewhere in the George W Bush?
It was possibly a heart attack that caused him to drown, which wouldn’t be much of a shock considering his painkiller abuse, known to cause heart problems. No drugs or alcohol on site, but it’s not like his addictions didn’t leave a lasting impact.
Did Duchovny have a drinking/drug problem? I know he was a sex addict (which, in retrospect, makes Mulders porn addiction a lot funnier), but otherwise he seems like he has his shit together
Yeah, I guess we’re sorta at opposite ends of the spectrum here
One thing I found to help me, whenever I feel the need to clean but am overwhelmed by the amount of cleaning needs doing, is to just break it down into smaller segments. Could be spacially, thematically, whatever. If I want to clean everything at once, I’ll probably end up cleaning nothing, so I just pick something. One time it was just collecting the plastic bottles in my apartment for the deposit. Didn’t collect the cans and glass bottles, though. Another time I reorganized and cleaned just my little walk in closet. And I’ve got on my to do list for sometime these next few days to do all the recycling paper I’ve got laying around. Doing it like this helps me not feel drained for weeks after the big clean up job. I still gotta test it long term, been only doing it for a little over a week or so, but it should hopefully result in a cleaner apartment.
Same, turning 25 in a month, still no car
Primarily because I’m very fucking poor and just getting the license costs over 2000€ already
They all repost to each other anyway. Some creators will just post directly to several of them, but there’s also entire content factories designed around stealing other peoples creative works and reposting them on a different platform.
I was on reddit a couple times past couple of days for some specific purposes (like looking up Minecraft seeds). Checked the front page and stuff out of curiosity and I genuinely don’t know if the content was already as bad when I left or if Lemmy just gave me new standards or something, but Jesus Christ. It’s all just ragebait and TikTok reposts, even though everyone on reddit always claims to hate TikTok. It’s like if you collected all the lowest tier posts from every other site and then gathered them in one.
Don’t forget to Install Doom/Doom on your Hannah Montana Linux
Would it make you wish for a nuclear winter?
There’s just this… dread or uneasiness whenever I’m forced or forcing myself to do something. Like, cleaning is great on the rare occassion I just naturally have the energy and will to do it, but anytime else it’s like torture.
The dude hated beans so much, he got killed by pursuers in front of a bean field because he refused to touch them
Stupid deaths, stupid deaths, they’re funny cause they’re true!
Aye, the one I’m renting from is a local company. You find lots of them all over Germany, managing the huge apartment buildings, especially the old soviet concrete blocks. Outside of places like Berlin they’re usually reasonable.
I’m somewhat “glad” I’m not renting a place owned by some rich chucklefuck, but one owned by a company. I know, sounds weird, but at least my rent money is going to something useful, since they employ their electricians, plumbers etc., hire a cleaning firm to clean the stairwell, and have a website where I can report problems, look at my energy consumption, stuff like that.
Tbh, I expect the singleplayer to be a massive improvement over V, which lacked a lot of the small things that really make a GTA game for me. We’ve already seen some pretty cool stuff in the leaks, like a more limited weapon inventory returning (looks to be somewhere between the old GTA style pre-V and RDR2) and most excitingly for me: fishing. But seriously, I think, depending on what you disliked/found underwhelming about V, VI might end up improving in those areas.
