It’s easy to read, but it also reads like the written equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.

Are there languages with more than 2 genders? That sounds interesting.
To be clear it’s ‘prohibitively expensive’ on a governmental scale.
There’s so few places that have that combo of “not enough water” and “large amounts of wealth” that desalinization just isn’t used a lot.
What wattage is the PSU?
You could try taking the GPU out entirely and see if it gets anywhere. If it runs fine without the GPU it’s probably wanting way more power than your PSU can provide. I doubt that’s the issue for various reasons, but it’s a possibility.
There’s literally like four places with free wifi in my entire town. Most of the restaurants don’t have it, and we only have two hotels… neither of which has properly free wifi- you have to get a room to use it.
Kinda my take on it.
The only aspect of Christmas that’s inherently Christian is the fact that it has ‘Christ’ in the name.
When I was young it was a bit different- we’d pray on Christmas, have a themed tree, a little nativity scene setup. That sort of thing. I don’t do that anymore. Christmas is as religious to me as Valentines day, my birthday, Saint Patrick’s day, and Thanksgiving. It’s more a cultural event than a religious one, is what I’m getting at.
If anyone wants a further example of “Christmas but not even slightly Christian”, try watching a few Christmas movies. A lot of them aren’t particularly religious. I recently saw Violent Night, it’s an excellent example lol.
Hah, when I think YAML my brain goes to the Mechwarrior 5 mod: Yet Another Mech Lab.
From my understanding it’s about use. The non-stick coating will start to flake off, and you don’t want to eat the stuff.
Using metal utensils on non-stick pans is a terrible idea for this exact reason as well- they’re really hard on the coating.
the purple ones cloak your IP address
Cuz you’ve never seen a purple IP address
Very similarly, I’d probably say ‘5 past 6’.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DN62GW Here’s an HDMI switch with PIP. Zero clue how good of an experience that would be, but that sort of thing exists.
75hz here. I thought it was pretty weird. It’s basically extra spicy 60hz.
I agree that we have a two tiered justice system.
I don’t really agree that this is an example of that.
A: homie isn’t walking free. He’s in prison waiting to hear exactly how long he’ll be in prison.
B: The thing with poor people getting gaps between verdict and sentencing is only a thing because of the scale of crimes involved. Someone rich is going to need to commit way more significant crimes that will require more in depth consideration for the punishment.
If a rich person commits a minor crime they’ll almost certainly manage to get off. A poor person is almost certainly going to get a verdict and an immediate sentencing.
Honestly I think the part of this that surprises me is that he got fired for this… in the 1980s.
I wonder if there’s an ask historians thread on exactly when racism became “denormalized”, if that’s a word.
No shit.
The solution there is that ideally no human is allowed to make a mistake significant enough to have any impact.
If Bob the nuclear engineer does something fucking stupid, but there’s an automated failsafe that resolves the problem… was there really that big of a problem?
This issue is… that stuff gets expensive quick.
…beers? 4-5 beers over the course of a night is fine. Especially if you’re a larger person. I’m a pretty big dude and unless I’m shotgunning them I can drink 2-3 beers and barely be tipsy.
I don’t even drink often, either.
Now if it’s every night or something there might be an issue.
It would require a constitutional amendment to outright ban guns, and our Congress can’t agree on year to year budgeting. Getting the required votes to ban guns would be functionally impossible. Honestly even if it didn’t require an amendment I don’t think it would be realistically passed as a regular law.
So: banning guns outright is off the table entirely.
More gun controls always seemed to be approached in an incredibly stupid way- they tend to ban the scary things rather than the dangerous things.
So many gun laws are just fucking stupid. Tons of stuff is banned because it looks scary.
SBRs being illegal is pretty dumb.
I was right! It was interesting. Thanks for the reply.
