And if we started building them a decade ago we would have them now. We need to start building them now, because it’s only gonna be worse in 10 years.

I’m guessing it’s them talking with Sony. Sony is the one requiring this, I’m sure the devs hate being forced to destroy the good will of the community.
My personal fav was “Congressman makes preemptive apology for extramarital affair”
Especially with a lot of new EVs on the road that use regenerative breaking if your foot is off the gas.
I doubt Microsoft even thinks about Linux as a competitor in the consumer space. People on Lemmy are seriously delusional about how many people use or even know about Linux.
Nope. Because you don’t know when it will collapse,. Imagine you have 2 balls, a red and a blue. They are both put in boxes and each ship takes 1 box. After you travel a long distance you open your box. You have just collapsed the “superposition” of what color the balls were. You now know what color both balls are, but you don’t know if the other person has looked in their box yet.
I think a lot of people get confused by the term “observe” when talking about collapsing quantum uncertainty. Observing requires a photon to interact with the particle which is what caused it to “choose” what state it is in.
No, measuring one particle collapses the entanglement and they no longer affect each other. It is a one time thing. You can’t modify them after they have been observed.
C is more than just the speed of light. It is the speed of Causality. No information can travel faster than C in a vacuum. Gravitational waves already reach us faster than the light from events that cause them (i.e. neutron star collisions) Because small particles slow down the light over long distances, as they absorb and then re-emit the photons.
Inequality has lessened somewhat in recent years as wage growth has favored poorer workers
Also that means pretty much nothing without also looking at how much more money the richest of us have. Their wealth increases by the trillions during covid. To say that inequality is now better because some of the lowest earning workers might be making a few thousand more each year is disingenuous at best.
Good luck convincing entire communities to use a different service that is less supported.
That’s some of the worst logical thinking I’ve seen on Lemmy.
It’s not literally about the color. The way iMessage works is if everyone in a group chat is using it you can send high quality video and images over it. However if you have a single non-imessage user (i.e. android user) it disabled that for everyone and defaults to MMS video/pic quality. You can see how that would obviously lead to immense peer pressure to not be the one making all of your friends experience worse, or risk just never being in those group chats.
Oh you mean now after knowing about it for decades? They waited until it was too late.
You are hopelessly naive.
This is talking about firing from an off shore vessel though. They declassified the test firing on land years ago.
Yea that has been fixed. And AutoHDR is pretty much a must have if you have a real HDR monitor. (Not that fake hdr400 B’s they put on all monitors nowadays.)
Too many people think that when we spend money on space, that we are literally sending the money into orbit. Almost all of it is going back into the economy and keeping tons of businesses alive.
You’re not going to college level math to do basic calculations. You’re going to college level math because you need to learn how to actually fully understand and apply mathematical concepts.
I wouldn’t have found like half the music I listen to now if I was only buying releases I already knew about.
That is hilariously naive. The world is gonna keep turning either way. People aren’t just gonna suddenly all up and disappear. And the climate isn’t like a thing where you reach a certain point and you just give up. We can lessen how bad things will be. Making nuclear now is the right choice, so that in 10 years we can cut as many polluting forms of energy as we can.
