Mhm. He and my mother plan on moving to Alaska with my uncle.

My 90 year old grandmother refuses to go to a nursing home (and honestly I can’t blame her) and actually just blew a ton of money getting her home remodeled. She has no plans to leave until she passes away, at which point the house will go to my father who has plans to sell it.

Meanwhile, my wife and I barely make the median income amount and, at 36, we’re never going to be able to afford a home.

It’s a race to the bottom and we all lose.

What about those that are being forcefully coerced into doing so? I’m broke, and I’ll be working until the day I die, but it sure as hell isn’t because I want to.

My wife is different than my friends because we literally live together. All decisions are made with the both of us in mind. As a result, we know each other better than just about anyone else, and that level of emotional intimacy is tough to find anywhere else. Don’t get me wrong, I have a few very good friends as well, but I don’t talk about the same things with them as I do my wife.

Having an honest to God companion to share the ups and downs in life is amazing. The ups are sublime, the downs help us both be more introspective and end up bettering ourselves.

The city of Austin, TX voted for a civilian oversight board to be created. Due to various lawsuits and whatnot, it still has yet to come into existence. All because the cops want to literally get away with murder.

Probably because they were all cheap crap and not made up to the standards of the device they connected to.

It’s less about personal opinions and more how the government functions. Texas is a straight up hostile place to be if you’re anything but rich, male, straight, and white.

It should be tied to local areas. Someone living in the middle of nowhere doesn’t need nearly as much money as someone living in the middle of a city. Tie minimum wage to local inflation, maybe on a county level.

So it’s rust.

Not just the Texas Government, but the AG Ken Paxton in particular. And Gregg Abbott as well.

Language is fun like that. Kinda like how ‘literally’ can, and often does, mean ‘figuratively’, which has the opposite meaning.

There’s a kind of tick that, once it bites you, causes you to be deathly allergic to red meat from that point forward.

I’m so glad my employer gave everyone the option of getting their vaccines on the company dime, during work hours. Most everyone got ‘em, and it’s resulted in hardly anyone actually getting sick so far this season.
