  • Yeah, I’ve never once seen anything but criticism over the US’s involvement in the middle east.

The most I’ve seen is a couple people saying the equivalent of “well SOMEONE had to do something about X” And a bunch of others jumping on them to clarify that X either never existed, or was massively exaggerated and the US isn’t the World Police.

Genuinely would love to see someone link a good faith comment trying to argue the above, so I can tell them all about how they’re a fucknut

  • Can you truly say you’ve had the HB experience if you haven’t recieved emoji/sticker/gif spam from people who weren’t alive for 9/11, have never been outside their country, and refuse to listen to opposing views, but know with full certainty that all western countries are 100% full of genociders and colonial rapists who all deserve the glorious death the super benign, extremely peaceful and misunderstood countries of North Korea, China, and Russia who have never once been correctly accused of human rights violations…

And of course, if they point out that your country has dipped into those things in the past, well your entire worldview is shattered and their whataboutism has solved everything and proves you deserve the death they crave for you.

  • “Russia might continue interfering in international politics while supporting a Russian asset they’ve interfered with international politics before to support”

I know things like this should be pointed out at ANY AND EVERY OPPORTUNITY, because apparently people have short attention spans… But holy shit reading stuff like this just makes me think the average person is so out of touch with reality that they literally need daily reminders that one of the shittiest people they know is still shitty.

The only people who don’t think Russia has something on Trump that makes him an asset that they can use to destabilize politics in a rival country at any and every opportunity, are people somehow ignorant of the last decade of history, useful idiots, and people being paid to think that.

  • I think it’s less “they think the position is already a dictator” and more “the general public has absolutely no idea how the office of the president works, or how the powers and limitations on various branches work in general” which is a failing of their education, and a poor reflection on the country as a whole.

Of course that’s exactly the way the republicunts like it, “keep the population dumb and they won’t even question why you’re oppressing them”

If your only experience with the president and their powers comes from (for millennial anyway) various crises (manufactured and non) where the president says “I’m signing this thing to do this” and because the vast majority of congress is behind them, as well as the regular) rest of the population, and it gets done (I’m thinking of things like Iraq), I can see someone thinking “well the president signed a paper, so it MUST happen”

Which is sad funny since I hear the minimum wage comment a lot, but like… How well do you think that will go? It will go just like the student loan bullshit.

And republicunts are such fucking insecure losers, they will happily drag the entire planet down into their bullshit to prevent even one single other person from getting help that they believe they’re entitled to the entirety of.

    You know. Like Toddlers.

  • Anecdote time!

I was once semi-surrounded by coyotes while hiking in some back country with a friend.

I did not have anything except my camping knives and a very small axe for splitting kindling.

My buddy had a compact 9mm in his waistband.

Honestly, I can say an AR would not have made me feel safer. A larger capacity on my sidearm, on the other hand, would. The AR is just too bulky to move quickly in close quarters.

Luckily a single round to the trailside was enough to scare them off, since yelling and throwing things wasn’t. We then ran/sprinted a few miles down the trail toward the vehicle before we even considered slowing down.

Not many situations in which either one is something I’m desiring though, and while I’m not a fan of limiting people, I can’t say I’ve ever needed 30rds at once. Honestly, I buy 10rd mags just because they fit very nicely in some cases I already had, and the 30rds don’t.

Rambling anecdotes over, have a nice day!

  • This is the one thing that blows my mind with all the “voting doesn’t matter” folks…

If it didn’t matter, then why do so many people try to limit who can vote, how you vote, when you vote, who is allowed to be voted on, where you can vote, your voting rights in general, or just plain outright trying to stop you from voting altogether.

And the people going around parroting that voting doesn’t matter are either accomplices who also want to prevent you from voting, or USEFUL IDIOTS who genuinely are too dumb to realize that voting does in fact work. (also people who say voting doesn’t matter have clearly never voted in a local election)
