I think it will hinge on one thing: Will AI provide an experience that is maybe worse, but still sufficient to keep the market share, at lower cost than putting in the proper effort? If so, it might still become a tragic “success”-story.
Some weird, German communist, hello. He/him pronouns and all that. Obsessed with philosophy and history, secondarily obsessed with video games as a cultural medium. Also somewhat able to program.

So, here’s a weird anecdote: Me and my ex were watching The Lighthouse together online (long distance relationship). Neither of us had watched it before. Turns out for some reason, VLC was not able to decode the audio codec properly on my end - I only had some athmospheric parts of ambience and music, but most interestingly no voice at all. Up until the very end, I thought they just went extra-avant-guarde and emulated a silent film in addition to the monochrome aesthetics. Only after we talked about it and she told me something about some dialogue scenes I realised that there was actually supposed to be audible dialogue.
Funnily enough, turns out it was still super enjoyable for me because I love artsy movies and surreal experiences, and I was able to piece together the plot and character interactions pretty accurately.
Yeah, I interpreted it as such, which made me even more confused there’s only milk and no other dairy products. Here in Germany at least, if protein for cheap is what you want, you go with Quark or Harzer.
EDIT: Huh, I just did some very rough math in my head, going with 1,35€ for a 500g pack of Quark from Lidl, and interestingly, that seems to put it roughly at the same place as actual milk, with it having 60g of protein, that is fascinating.
I am a little thrown off by there being no cheeses and other dairy products at all. How does stuff like Skyr, Yoghurt, Quark, etc. compare?
Spring. Not too hot, sun is out, things are green, lovely time of the year. Autumn is also nice, similar stuff to like, but overall, I don’t like the muddy ground and weather as much. Winter is nice temperature-wise, but the lack of sun messes with me. Summer is… unavoidable, unfortunately :/
I can basically go wth any kind of jam, blackberry is really good. Something like Sriracha or a similar kind-of sweet chili sauce can also be amazing. Oh, and honey is also a really good taste experience.
I actually had to get rid of adnauseam because YT detected it pretty consistently, ublock origin as of this comment still works fine on YT though.
Peertube is eagerly awaiting a proper community.
“Let’s end imperialism by converting communist movements across the globe into extensions of our imperialism, thus setting back the proletarian struggle by opportunistically redirecting it towards our national interests”
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink pre-frozen water from my fridge. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of frozen water and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. I am also always prepared for hurricanes, thanks to my frozen water in the fridge. That is how I deal with society, and hurricanes, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight, I wouldn’t lose to anyone, especially not hurricanes, thanks to my frozen water in the fridge.
Technically, the radio play was first IIRC
And already the first instance I personally encountered for myself of a problem with the branding.
When scrolling and seeing the top half of the meme, in no way did my mind assume, in the first moments, that this was going to be about ex-twitter. It parsed X as “generic thing”, a placeholder, a variable.
Only if I can use it, too, not because of communism but just because
I know, I know, it is just a silly meme, but still, Marx spent an immense amount of time and thought to explain that equality is not only not the goal of communism, but impossible in principle.
It’s about coordinating our socially necessary labour and recourses rationally - in a way, that each person can have the maximum possible amount of freedom, time and resources to develop their own humanity. Basically, using the immense production potential capitalism created in a way that time and energy used up in labour is reduced, overproduction and waste is avoided and the division that came with class society (where slaves are needed for one class to have leisure and time to develop their thoughts) is overcome.
Just some nitpick, basically, communism is already about sharing with filters, equality does not really exist.
It’s pretty telling a platform like YouTube really only gets fully enjoyable with an adblocker, sponsorblock and this. I wish PeerTube had a lot of good creators, but last time I checked (years ago, admittedly) it was mostly conspiracy theorists and cryptobros.
As we can see here, Squidward is adding the “meta commentary about Lemmy” sauce to the order on the house.
For me, interestingly enough, it still works when I am logged out. I am still using it to skim the Ukraine live thread on worldnews or other news stuff, but it lost me as an active participant in any way (including voting on content).
Oh, wow, another book for the reading list :O
Am surprised that I genuinely hadn’t heard of him, just highlights the point the article is making.
