Just wanted to say we have one in our yard that has been there for almost 20-years. Previous owner left it to rot. I moved it close to some wild hops and they are covering it completely after two years. Still standing!

That would not be a happy ending to the story.
A story I like about him is that he used to get money in sheets from the US Treasury. All still legal tender and you can do this too. He’d tear off a bill and hand it to whomever he was paying and they would be confused.

I love using cash. I feel like I am thwarting The System since it keeps pressuring me to use credit cards or some other form of electronic currency. I mean I use some of those too when necessary, but I use cash whenever possible.
I second this sentiment.
It gives better flexibility going forward and you save that money for now. When ready, you can decide wall mount or free standing rack, patch panel or none or anything you wish to change once you’ve had time to consider the issue more thoroughly.
I never installed any additional patch panels. Instead I just put the RJ-45 end on and plug straight into the switch. Easier and I never have any problems doing so.
