I use 10.x.x.x addresses at home, though split into /24 networks in each vlan.

I have the same issue (TRIPLE NAT’d! One of which is the CGNAT). Unfortunately I have external family that accesses from media boxes/TVs so those won’t work for me.
Thankfully I was able to get a small VPS server for $2/mo and set up some reverse tunnels with auto-ssh. Seems to be working fairly well so far.
All that said, I longingly look forward to the future when I don’t have to worry about NAT.
They have one called “Pink Drink”. It’s not available bottled, The only place I ever had it was at Austin City limits Festival a few years before the pandemic. It’s kind of a Prickly-pear Lemonade flavored soda. It was without a doubt the most delicious, refreshing beverage I have ever consumed, and the fact that I’ve never been able to find it since then is actually one of the biggest disappointments of my life.
The problem isn’t them being in you LAN. It’s about going to an untrusted network (eg Starbucks, hotel) and connecting to your VPN, boom, now your VPN connection is compromised.
There were two.
Every time he farted it was awful so we’d shoo him out of the room. Eventually, he’d immediately walk out of the room right AFTER he farted.
We’d end the day watching TV in the living room. Eventually he learned that the click of the TV meant it was time to go to bed, so any time the TV got turned off, he’d get up and go into his bed in our bedroom.
I have the same issue with Keepass2Android. I think the issue is with Android itself rather than the password app.
I use proxmox mail gateway (PMG) for my homelab, configured to relay through my Gmail domain using smtp auth.
I’ve also used PMG at the enterprise level. Never had an issue with it.
It’s postfix underneath.
Not when the alternative is gasping for breath.
Just cancelled Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+ and Hulu about an hour ago.
Still have Max (included in cell phone plan), Prime (mainly for shipping) and AppleTV+ because it’s cheap, and I’ve had a harder time f successfully getting many of their shows on the seven seas.
For music we’re stuck in a bit of a disagreement on what service to consolidate down to. I use YouTube Music because it includes add-free videos and because I was a long time user of Google Play Music (which was awesome). Wife likes Pandora Premium (Pandora has the best ‘stations’ with per-station thumbs-up/down), one kid has years of stuff on Napster(nee Rhapsody), and the other kid has all their stuff and friends playlists on Spotify.
I was under the impression that software like PowerDVD could play 4K HDR media if you’re using Windows.
And at the end of the day, it is also (generally accepted as ‘probably’) legal to decrypt the media using whatever other methods available as long as you are only doing so to back up or enable viewing for yourself.
What are you on about? In the US at least, there’s no legal restriction on you playing 4K Blu-Ray movies on a PC.
everything is completely boring text, no images
You literally just listed some of the reasons IRC is better. That said, I don’t see any reason an IRC client couldn’t be made to support images, with the understanding that it would have to be done in a way that falls back to posting it as a link for people using text-only clients, but that shouldn’t be too difficult.
can’t message people when they’re offline,
This functionality can be enabled on IRC servers or on a per-channel basis using bots.
it’s not clear how I can easily setup my own server.
Again an advantage of IRC. Not every group of 2 people need their own server. And a simple 2 second Google search (or learning your IRC client) will show you how to create your own channel in seconds.
the discoverability with any IRC client tends to be in the negatives.
That really depends on the client. There are (or at least used to be) plenty of user-friendly IRC clients. How many alternate clients can I use with Discord?
And heaven forbid someone should have to think for more than 3 seconds when learning something new to them.
I swear I sometimes think that once all of us Gen-Xers are gone, there won’t be anyone left who actually understands how the Internet or the technology that runs on it actually works, as prophesied by Idiocracy.
Many (if not most) women have historically kept their married name after a divorce. Sometimes it depends on how long they lived with that married name, and whether or not they already have significant career milestones, professional accomplishments or public awareness attached to their married name.
While I could easily get more than $10mil with my current knowledge (assuming I go back in time to 6yrs old), I would not have the same wife or child as I do now, and there’s no way I’ll give them up, so I’ll just take the $10mil now .
Afraid that wasn’t me. Though I’ve used this nick in many places over the years, including various tech/sysadmin IRC channels, and other social media sites.
Historically I’ve been a Unix/Linux/VMware sysadmin, though I’ve moved into a professional services role doing automation/orchestration/config-management.
There’s a lot of good IT/Development technical channels on IRC, especially on libera.chat and oftc.net, since freenode went down the drain.
I still use irc every day for legitimate work/technical support purposes.
#00ff00 (green) because I’ve been using it as my terminal text color for 30+ years.
Well again, I’m only using /24 chunks of it.
The main reason I went with it is that it’s far faster for me to type “10.0.x.x” than to type “192.168.x.x”, especially on the keypad.
