At a local here in aus, if the self service checkouts think someone is about to walk out without paying, they lock off the entire self service area, and all the trolleys in the store freeze and refuse to move - Even if you’ve been through the manned register, and already paid for your groceries… You have to wait for them to unlock all the shit. Idk how people shop there.
