Knowing GM they will lobby to ban Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

I have to convince every one of my friends to switch because they all use SMS/iMessage. Outside of the US, you would have to convince every one of your friends to switch from WhatsApp.
It’s kind of odd that they could just take random information from the internet without asking and are now treating it like a trade secret.
Don’t like these either, but it’s a nice break from being on my feet all day.
Galileo seems to be what they are calling the environment the USB boots to. This environment is moving from the XFCE desktop environment to the different KDE plasma desktop environment. These environments can both be customized, but they are very different under the hood. I imagine that you can still choose XFCE and other desktop environments from the installer.
Not a specific experience but I am more confident about contributing to discussions.
When will any of these companies realize that they need to leave forever?
Except instead of the car being old, it is modern and fast.
Oh man, I did that too. Reminded me that I should always keep a backup.
Probably because it is stupid simple to escape their ecosystem just by sideloading apps. They want to lock you down with their own OS.
As a driver for one of these apps it’s more of a bid than a tip. People send me bids to deliver their food and I deliver to the highest bidder. It sucks because that’s not what a tip is supposed to be and the majority of the delivery fee doesn’t go to the driver. That’s why I don’t really order from these delivery apps myself anymore.
Yeah it’s definitely a pro and con at the same time. More of a pro for me.
Not everyone can. People should consider their needs but Windows has programs that professionals rely on.
I do like Arch. I say the biggest problem I have with it is how basic it is out the box. I like that, but I sometimes find it challenging, especially toward the beginning, to find the package I’m missing to get a certain functionality.
I strongly advise not to do that. As others pointed out, it really is just predicting the next word. It is worth learning about how to problem solve and to recognize that the only way to become a better program is with practice. It’s better to get programming advice from real people online and read the documentations for the functions and languages you are trying to use.
There is so much cognitive dissonance between the warning at the bottom of the screen and the content of the commercial. Totally agreed.
I don’t know about you, but I get annoyed that I still can’t use NFC at checkout. It’s 2023, tap to pay has been around in the US since 2016 and much longer in Europe.
One part of it is retransmission fees. Cable channels charge an arm and a leg because they can and broadcast OTA TV networks charge a fee as well even though their signal is free with an antenna. It just gets more and more expensive as a result as long as there are customers who can tolerate it.
No one is forcing you to use another app store. I’m sure the operating system will also allow you to turn off apps from unknown sources just like Android. More options for other people is not a bad thing. People paid for the device, they should be able to use it however they wish.
