That isn’t how it works though. Nobody is collecting billions in wages. They receive stock which isn’t counted as taxable income until sold.

SEO, the methodology of ruining Google’s algorithm and enshittifying everything for marketing gains.
Does this mean Biden is positioning to enter the Ukraine war? Would probably help his numbers in the upcoming election against Trump.
He doesn’t need to own 25% of tesla’s shares to be given 25% of voting power. It’s very common for different classes of shares for a company to exist that have entirely different voting rights.
Laws are to protect the haves from the have-nots.
you don’t understand, after they gut the irs funding they’ll replace all the management positions with politically chosen replacements, then force investigations to solely target their political rivals. No resources left to investigate their buddies.
That’s the strategy now. All competitors are ‘crooks’.
Hard work always pays off.
I’m completely for shutting down the affordable connectivity program
The ISPs should have to provide the service at a minimal rate to same said families and also offer 100/100 minimum service to anyone in the regions they operate. It shouldn’t be subsidized by the government, it should literally be the cost of doing business for the business. Write up a bill, make it law, giant fines for not keeping a certain level of 9s in terms of availability and capacity.
Fuck government subsidies to big companies with huge profit margins. I work in IT, I know how the technology works. I know what it costs. I know that they do not need to charge anywhere near as much as they charge and they’d still make a killing, even with all the boots on the ground collecting paychecks.
I think it’s pretty amazing when people just run with the dogma that empowers billionaires.
Every creator hopes they’ll be the next taylor swift and that they’ll retain control of their art for those life + 70 years and make enough to create their own little dynasty.
The reality is that long duration copyright is almost exclusively a tool of the already wealthy, not a tool for the not-yet-wealthy. As technology improves it will be easier and easier for wealth to control the system and deny the little guy’s copyright on grounds that you used something from their vast portfolio of copyright/patent/trademark/ipmonopolyrulelegalbullshit. Already civil legal disputes are largely a function of who has the most money.
I don’t have the solution that helps artists earn a living, but it doesn’t seem like copyright is doing them many favors as-is unless they are retired rockstars who have already earned in excess of the typical middle class lifetime earnings by the time they hit 35, or way earlier.
I think law enforcement should mostly be based on a triage system. Biggest problems get the most resources. Minor problems get the backlog.
There are so many problems in prisons that actually need investigation that a single case of post-mortem organ harvesting is truly minor. This isn’t a pattern of behavior, this is one single case. Prove me wrong.
You’re talking about a single case.
We have people getting fucking murdered in prison all the time. https://chicagocrusader.com/215-bodies-found-buried-behind-jackson-mississippi-jail/
Of all the current things to worry about the last thing anybody should really be putting any effort into is a deceased person’s missing internal organ that was removed after death.
It’s horrible, yes, but so many horrible things play out every single day. This has no impact beyond psychological to the family involved. The guy is already dead. The heart won’t bring him back. The heart won’t stop them from suffering his loss.
I’m sure there are far more pressing things to investigate that impact the living and the masses. I know this is cruel and ignores emotion but if there was ever a reason to put the majority before the minority, this is one of those.
Let’s go dictator! all hail dictator whoever the fuck!
Can’t wait for tropico to play out in USA in my lifetime. We can finally bring more equality to the world by bringing down the last real bastion of democracy. I wonder what world power will step in to take over for us?
If democrats were split 4-3 on the ruling in Colorado, what outcome are people realistically expecting getting this from a group of mostly conservative judges?
If they don’t let him through then democrats will stay in power and the threat to their billionaire bribes “donations” will be at risk. They might get some serious changes to how the judicial arm works that dilutes their nearly absolute power.
If they DO let him through then republicans will continue to rally for pro conservative policies that dismantle democracy in place of a single party system where the judges are still on top and get to do effectively whatever they want, so long as they keep letting their side win.
I would like to propose an alternative solution: Force broadband providers to offer low cost service to families that need it. Don’t subsidize it, just force it.
Internet connections cost next to nothing to maintain. The telecoms can afford it.
This is one of those things where I don’t really agree with the law on.
Shoplifters come back again and again and many try to screw with checkout people with coupon scams or simply know where in the store to go to hide the things they want to steal.
Verkada (a company that supplies cameras and the software to use them) has this kind of functionality built-in. All it does is let you setup alerts for people who are persons of interest. It’s not perfect but anyone paying attention can tell that the person on camera being alerted is the same as the POI or not. It doesn’t eliminate the human interactions needed to actually prevent shoplifting, but it does let you know who to focus on when they come in.
Normal store employees don’t get access to things like camera systems. Security / loss prevention employees are typically the ones with access and who would see a notification and then watch for someone to put things in a purse or pocket and try to walk out of the store.
So all they’re saying is “do not scrutinize this known thief unless you yourself remember them” which is pretty absurd. If someone doesn’t steal there isn’t a problem, and if there is the footage will back up the innocence (or guilt!) I don’t even know how this became a case.
Nothing is final until the federal supreme court weighs in or the election is final.
At this stage of the game all of the appeals in the world are in play.
ftfa
The court put its decision on hold until Jan. 4 to allow for further appeals. It also said that if the matter is pursued before the U.S. Supreme Court before that date, the pause will remain in effect during that time and Colorado will be required to include Trump’s name on the primary ballot pending action by the Supreme Court.
Article also mentions the supreme court in CO is appointed by all democrats. A big win would be a red state agreeing with this.
Better pull up those bootstraps and start finding your own individual source of power. Maybe you can drill for oil in your backyard?
I can all but guarantee he didn’t even open the attachment. Probably replied on his cell phone when he saw the alert.
This stuff isn’t really a debate or discussion. The two sides meet on their own and talk about what their strategies are before meeting in the middle in pointless formalities. They probably worked on the draft together or went over it before it went out- the goal was for the side in control to decide on how they wanted it before putting it through the red tape of a vote. The real decisions were made long before the email was even sent.
For all intents and purposes 4 of the 5 members of the supreme court are just bench warmers until a conservative member retires or dies. At that point they are relevant until another conservative gets pushed through, or simply take over once a liberal gets through. That’s it.
imo the concept of nonpartial decisions or bipartisanship is a fantasy, just like communism. There’s the winning side and there’s the losing side and the winners take all in this country.
I work in IT. I can pretty much guarantee that server load for a game like this is nonexistent from a cost perspective. They’re not going to be using cloud services, they’re going to privately host because it’s way cheaper. Early days playercount woes were before they added more nodes to their solution. Whatever cost they had for servers is already paid. Electricity and facilities costs are whatever because they are paying it anyway. They can’t just fire the people maintaining their solution either but that’s also baby bucks compared to the money spent building this thing or marketing it.
Gaming protests of popular games never work unless the objective doesn’t alter the bottom line.
