Ventoy can do windows installations as well
The 3 2 1 rule is always the gold standard.
I’d recommend at least adding an offsite backup. Set up rclone with a mounted folder (client side encryption is recommended) and sync the files to that as well.
I use Backblaze for about $6/TB/mo, pro-rated for whatever amount is actually used.
I love this app.
a good starter distro but ideally you should make your own from scratch so you know what’s in it
KDE Connect?
Solar powered grid charges the car when not in use
He was given more cotton candy and eventually figured out that it can’t go in water and ate some dry.
I’ll never understand why they spend so much effort pushing ads into people’s faces
money
Also, disappointingly, most people don’t care about the ad all that much.
Smells coming back up, especially when related to the outside, could be indicative of a larger sewer issue. That’s why they were so happy to respond to our issue.
In our case, there’s a flap that is supposed to only allow stuff out. Sometimes that flap gets stuck open and can’t shut. If the sewer levels rise above that flap, now stuff is flowing the wrong way back into the private side of the sewage line.
Before you call the plumber, try calling the city. We had sewage backing up into our showers so we called the city and they found the issue was on our side but still fixed it for us for free.
Worst case scenario, they say it’s not their problem. Best case scenario, they give you the solution or even fix it themselves.
The ship owners don’t want safety, or at least they don’t want to pay for it. Let them suffer.
The ship owners (the company owners) are more than likely not on that ship. It’s just regular workers.
There’s no way to “let them rot” without risking the lives of the people on the ship.
I get that Lemmy has a very diehard “eat the rich” stance, and I do too, but make sure it’s directed at the correct people.
Just because it flies under a certain flag doesn’t mean it only serves that country.
Also, the people on those ships deserve the right to work safely, regardless of who is providing that protection.
That being said, other countries that rely on these ships should be helping as well. US warships are doing it to prove their weapons and train the crew, but in the end it’s all paid for by the US taxpayers.
Oh I never though of running those!
Clonezilla inside the VM to clone the “drive” and then clone that to the actual SSD
If I go this route, is there a way to take that VM I’ve created and just roll straight into it? Just install it on the boot drive?
I’ve got a Pop!_OS VM going already.
Oof, that’s rough.
It really depends on the job, I guess. I wore the Danner Reckonings for about 2 years straight and they were a little rough looking but still in great shape. The tip of the boot where the sole curves up the front was starting to peel. The worst I did with them was mountain climbing and some very wet environments.
Some of the dudes I worked with were sent to an area with a lot of lava rock, which absolutely shreds boots.
What a shit hole state
Danner is my go-to brand for quality boots.
I’ve been issues a lot of boots from work and the Danners are the most comfortable by far. They made it through some real shit, too.
Seconding this one
Super simple once you look at how the config file is formatted.
I like Backblaze mostly for their business practices. The Backblaze devs answer questions on forums sometimes (Reddit link btw). The costs are pretty good, but there are cheaper options. $6/TB plus some API transactions. I paid almost a dollar last month for a couple hundred GB of data and transactions.
Plus their drive failure publications are awesome.
