How would they know that? It’s often hard to predict how users will react, sometimes your expectations are wrong.

Yes that’s what I’m talking about, it’s a new feature though so it doesn’t matter too much that it’s buggy. For instance it will make a chime when someone starts a voicemail even if your phone is set to silent.
Visual voicemail is pretty glitchy, sms syncing isn’t backwards compatible with iOS 16, but otherwise no issues
I’m not saying defederating should go away, but that this should be an additional way to deal with unwanted content.
