  • I never use my headphone jack. I don’t care if my next phone has one. Having wires attached to my phone is enormously inconvenient to me. Plus I have a thing where I need to be able to hear what’s going on around me, so I bought some Bose sunglasses and put prescription lenses in them. I love them. They definitely sacrifice on the bass, but I can wear them at work and still hear if someone knocks on my door or starts talking to me. They last about 5 or 6 hours and charge pretty quickly. I hardly ever have to charge them more than once per night.

    I found a few typos. In the 2nd paragraph under the section “strong feelings”, you use “than” when it should be “then”. More importantly, when talking about distributive properties, you say x(x+z)=xy+xz. I believe you meant x(y+z)=xy+xz.

    Otherwise, I enjoyed that read. I’m embarrassed to say that I did think pemdas meant multiplication came before division, however I’m proud to say that I’ve unconsciously known that it’s important to avoid the ambiguity by putting parentheses everywhere for example when I make formulas in spreadsheets. Which by the way, spreadsheets generally allow multiplication by juxtaposition.

    Some therapists will help, others won’t. Some psych wards will help, others will give you more trauma. I recommend caution and research before telling a therapist about suicidal thoughts. I had a real bad experience at the behavioral health emergency center in Charlotte NC, and that wasn’t even overnight. I’ve heard good things about some residential places here in Oregon.





  • “Hey hubby, I’m not sure why, but when you say “Hey come here” to me, I feel really stressed as I’m walking to you not knowing whether it’s a good ‘come here’ or a bad ‘come here’. Can we workshop a way to communicate that doesn’t feel so stressful to me? Could you say something like “hey, babe, something is happening wherever/whatever, come see this.”?”

    Tell him what you are feeling until he understands and wants to help you feel less stressed. Another option is to ask while you are walking, something simple like “good or bad?”
