It looks like a male specimen of Tegenaria domestica. Its habitat spreads over Europe, Asia and Northern America. They are harmless to humans.

My theory is that (volontary) childless people are less predictable to others. If you only have to take care of yourself, you need less resources (read: money) for that. An employer that knows his employee has children to care for can be treated worse in terms of working conditions and salary/ wages, because the employer knows that this employee can’t afford to quit the job, because of the responsibility for the child(ren).

If an emloyee is known to have no children, it makes him unpredictable. He could get up after a good yelling at the workplace, say “fuck it” and leave. He only has to take care for himself. Also, that employee can accumulate more money since it has not to be spent on the needs of children. That means, the employee has a bigger and longer lasting financial cushion.

Something similar applies when credits/ loans have to be paid. Having debt is a considered a “good” thing, since people are less prone to quit their jobs. On a personal level, the goal should be to become debt free as soon as possible. Not only it will result in financial freedom, it will also enhance your “fuck-it-ablilty”.

Another theory for those convincing people is that they envy your lifestyle of tranquility and spontaneousness. These people have been bullied into having children by their peer groups, because “that is the thing to do”, and “you owe grandchildren”. There are so many parents out there who would be better off if they never had children, but their relatives had convinced them otherwise.

I bought this one. It has a built-in battery that is connected to the board with a standard (?) connector cable. The mouse can be opened with one screw underneath the gliding pad. I have this mouse for over a year now and I’m satisfied with it. It lasts 7 days with RGB-Lights switched on up to 10 days with RGB lights switched off - depanding on usage. You can operate up to 3 devices with it (BT 5.0, BT 3.0 and wirelessly with the dongle held with a magnet underneath the mouse when not needed. It can be charged with the USB C port. It can be charged while in use. Unfortunately tho, the mouse seems to be out of stock at Amazon. Perhaps other shops have this device listed. I obtained the mouse in Germany.

The thing that bothers me whenever I see a TV remote is that there doesn’t seem to be a remote control with illuminated keys, like on a computer keyboard. That way you can see the buttons even under dim lit conditions. Also, why aren’t there any remotes with a built-in battery that could be charged like a smartphone?

I don’t own a TV, but I know that back in the days of bulky CRT TV’s there were some remotes that could be iluminated. White LEDs weren’t a thing back then, so they used incandescent lamps which drained the 9V battery fast.

Why aren’t back llit and rechargeable TV remotes a thing today, especially because white LED’s and batteries are quite efficient today?

But dare to throw them away. Just two weeks later you will need that one AC adapter with that weird propetary connector for an old device you found while cleaning up that hasn’t been in use for the past 25 years.

When changing lanes or turning you are supposed to use the turning signal before doing the manouver. The turning signal is supposed to warn other drivers that you are going to do something. It doesn’t make any sense to use the turning signal when already mid-turning or while already changing lanes. Many drivers don’t seem to know that.
