I work in hospitality and our systems are completely down. No POS, no card processing, no reservations, we’re completely f’ked.
Our only saving grace is the fact that we are in a remote location and we have power outages frequently. So operating without a POS is semi-normal for us.
I’ve had Girls Aloud in my rotation recently. Their songs are just fun and really catchy. Also have The Veronicas, Brittany Spears, Taylor Swift etc…
I would really like a community for Volkswagen cars with q&a on mechanical problems, tips etc so I can stop going to reddit
I’ve never seen one with 2 different sauces tho. Such a good idea
Every time I update my flatpak apps I get a warning about deprecated libraries. I don’t think flatpak is the issue but rather apps being able to not update really old libraries that could have security patches available. Does anyone know of a way to force these old libraries to update?
I went that route with an unlocked ASUS zenfone and it turns out that phone is impossible to replace the screen on because replacement parts are not available where I live. I had to buy a new phone without a headphone jack. Check for parts availability before buying something from a smaller brand.
I use a mokapot, but I also run fedora on my laptop. What does that make me?
AirVPN still has port forwarding. They are run by a non profit activist group and you can use it without their app. Works with openvpn and wireguard natively.
To be fair, the calculator on my phone has a built in currency converter and would need network access to get the exchange rates
Where in the world do these things live? I’ve never seen anything like it before, and we have some pretty crazy things you can find in a house here in Aus
Hardware virtualization is often disabled in the bios by default and probably just needs to be enabled. Called something like AMD-VT or INTEL-Vd
There’s a reason why in the game you could never put a portal on a moving surface
and we were also first in line for things like the COVID vaccine, because the companies could make so much of their profits here…
We were first in line because the US government paid billions to fund the R&D to get the vaccine out. Then when manufacturing started in limited supply it went to the highest bidder first, which again was the US. We paid for it twice . I think that kind of thing should not be patented, we the people paid for the research and development, and the pharma companies got all the profits. If other companies and countries were allowed to manufacture the vaccines, we would have squashed COVID much faster.
I switched to Nebula its affordable and has lots of interesting content from YouTubers I most often watched. Their business is sustainable, pays the creators fairly and has no ads or recommendation algorithm.
I’ve also tried out Odyssey and had the same issues with it. There was one or two channels I would actually watch, but I think the crypto stuff attracts a certain libertarian type. I don’t think it’s sustainable long term.
No nonsense from my glass containers. Glass is non-reactive so you can really put anything in it without issues. Acid (like tomatoes) tend to take on a metallic flavour from metal containers like stainless, and plastic can melt if your not careful.
To Spotify’s credit, when I cancelled, I forgot and did it 2 days after it renewed and asked customer service for a refund. They did it no questions asked
I just cancelled Spotify and switched to Tidal a few months ago exactly because of shenanigans like this. I was getting popups to look at recommended eBooks that I had to buy.
That was it for me and I cancelled immediately. Between the ads and the countless bugs and issues I had while using their app, glad I made the change. Been a premium member with Spotify for almost 10 years.
I’m stealing that word now “scteenshat” works well in this context
Wasn’t this exact scenario posted to r/talesfromtechsupport a few years ago? It sounds very familiar
