18 days agoYes, I’ve heard some people say that they trust DOs more because they’re more deliberately trained to look at a larger picture of a person’s health. I don’t have my own opinion since I’ve never met with a DO.

Osteopaths (who have a Doctorate of Osteopathy and are often referred to as DOs) go to medical school and receive training that’s almost exactly the same as an MD.

I think of someone describing weird movies like Evil Bong or Pink Flamingos. Not much out there can get less serious.
A short text the day after Father’s Day. Then you did send something, it just wasn’t timely or appreciative.
That said, I generally send my shitty dad a text on the actual day. It usually just says, “Happy Father’s Day, have a good one.” Last year I forgot to send one and then, when I remembered, chose not to.

Free software can be freely copied, modified, distributed, etc. This doesn’t mean you don’t have to pay for it.
Open source software has its source code published. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re able to copy some or all of it, modify it, distribute it, etc.
It’s getting more and more common that, even in cases where code is open source, only part of the codebase is actually available. This is something that Microsoft (and other wealthy tech companies) loves to do to show that it’s “transparent.”
Well, we’d be splitting the croissant. But either way, lattes aren’t the only choice here.

01·1 month agoIt’s not really about comfort when you buy software and it doesn’t work unless you also buy an $800 hardware upgrade. Especially when it worked fine on the previous version and the only difference is the addition of extraneous features.

I think your drives may not be mounted correctly (they are not in your
fstabso the mount doesn’t persist after reboot); this comes up in the comments of the guide. Maybe this comment will help you.
This is essentially the reason it was made illegal in Canada to lock phones to carriers and all phones must be sold unlocked. I think the reason we did it is to keep customers from complaining about the rates we pay, though, since we’re one of the most expensive places in the world for cellular service and mobile data charges.
Check out this guide. I used it, it’s pretty good at describing stuff for new people.

That sounds like a fucking nightmare. I had to troubleshoot poorly-written-yet-somehow-functional GOTOs a lot when I was a BAS technician and that’s annoying enough.
