I feel called out here lol. Granted, I’ve only recommended it to people I know who complained about the performance of windows. Linux is so much more optimised
Most stuff has already been said, but I’ll just add my 2 cents:
I/O is very important. I got a laptop with a pathetic amount of ports and I deeply regret it. Don’t be like me
Living life on the edge currently, but thats because I dont have a means to backup my media at the moment

That’s really cool!
Will probably cave into the WM craze
Its not really a big deal, but there could’ve been a nicer way of getting the point across
When youre using your laptop on the go, it has to be communicated without words that you use arch btw
Copying stuff that enhances the UI/UX is something that I’m personally not opposed to but stealing another foundation’s motto is just lame and shameless.
This thread is utterly braindead but nvidia users are not completely out of luck. Use the proprietary drivers with xserver instead of wayland and it works fine (speaking from personal experience). Xserver has it’s own issues and will probably be phased out in favour of wayland in the future but hopefully by then, it will be able to support nvidia better.
This is the most ethical way of doing it. I respect it

I had a similar issue once and the problem was low storage space. Maybe you could try deleting some stuff?
Gdrive is an awful mess. I deleted a folder containing some 5000 files once and it deleted only the folder, not the 5000 files within 🤦
It’s still cluttered with all of them.
Imo it’s kinda unavoidable. Humans make mistakes all the time. We could greatly reduce the risk however, if we simply reduced our reliance on independent vehicles. Unfortunately this depends on the place where you live as well but if possible, it would be much safer for the collective majority to bike/walk to areas or use public transport where applicable as it would drop the amount of traffic on the roads
The problem is that everyone has consolidated on one gargantuan server. The whole point of the fediverse is to spread out so no one server is carrying the entire load. I’m currently using lemm.ee and have experienced none of the issues being discussed here.
But yes, I agree that it could be a potential turn off for newcomers.
I know, it’s just the fact that I use it for pretty much all of my media that I find kinda funny. Goes to show, it’s really an amazing program tho.
