If you use scaling some apps can be blurry. Oh and screen sharing doesn’t work on discord cause they refuse to update their app. Other than that it was smooth sailing for me

I see what you mean but I feel like it’s more on the distro mainters to set niceness and prioritize the UI while under load.
Foobar is a piss poor reason cause 1 it’s shit but to each their own. 2 I’m 95% positive it works perfectly with wine for years now
Front and back cameras work perfectly. Not sure about IR, didn’t even know it had it
So far the surface pro 3 been working great for me. Still no secure boot or tpm but I think I just did something wrong when I followed the guide
You got me so good. Been using fedora for a few years now and I’ve been hesitant to hop to silverblue but now, after reading your issues with it I might just have to stay away. I can’t imagine a world of painless updates and rebasing smoothly. If I don’t have things to troubleshoot what else am I gonna do on my PC!
On my surface I still need to :/ fuckin Microsoft
These comments are insane. Even Hitler washed his hands. Are you gonna stop doing that just cause a piece of shit agreed it was good?
Swear, although I’m more of a “mod+shift+q” kind of guy
Install: easy.
Seeing how much more annoying it is after using Linux: hard.
Check on your kids, nieces, and nephews too. Apparently gen z and alpha are just as guilty if not more.
I feel that so har. After homebrewing my 3ds and pirating every game (sorry devs) and even installing Linux on it. It’s just time to go. Had fun and will still pick it up every once in a while but it will never be that same high I felt years ago playing for the first time, experiencing that first street pass. RIP the best handheld
Yep, easiest choice ever and the tech behind Lemmy and activity pub is so cool
Let’s go! Welcome to lemmy
That’s pretty cool
I always hear amazing things about opensuse. I didn’t like it but I didn’t have any issue with it. Just preferred fedora over it. I’d say give it a shot
Nowadays distro doesn’t really matter. Just pick something that clicks with you. Almost everything is a flatpak now so it’ll install on any distro. If you come across something only packaged for Ubuntu or Debian you can use distrobox.
am I crazy but wouldn’t using ipfs essentially do all this for us?
For me the reason I love Linux is because it’s made by the people using it. Fedora devs for example have an issue personally and fix it. Every change makes sense but Ubuntu seems to be doing their own thing and not listening to the issues their users are having making it annoying to use. They push software no one in the community wants to use and modify the fuck out of everything they package creating their own issues. I loved Ubuntu back in the day because it was my first distro but now it’s just far off from what they used to be
