“The South will rise again!”
“And we’ll burn it the fuck down again.”
I just hope and pray that when Gabe Newell decides to retire, he hands the reins for Valve off to someone like-minded.
A huge part of the reason PC gamers have it so good is because GabeN refuses to sell Valve (and by extension, Steam) and also wants to deliver the best product possible. He’s content with merely making lots of money, instead of trying to squeeze every last cent out of Steam at the storefronts expense.
The question before SCOTUS boils down to: “Is it against the First Amendment for the government to inform social media platforms that a post/account violates that platform’s TOS?”
The Biden administration is explicitly NOT ordering these platforms to take down posts, but reporting them to mods, like any other user can.
I just think it’s weird that so many people’s gadgets, weapons, and cyberware is accessible through the Internet and vulnerable to cyberattack.
That scene where Meredith has her goons hold you down and jack into your neural port to run some lie detection? I would have custom firmware designed to prevent intrusions like that. None of my cyberware would even have wireless capability; I’d do all of my updates using physical media. I’d do whatever it took to make me immune to netrunners. It blows my mind how nobody else in CP2077 thinks that way and how it can’t be that hard to use gear without Internet connections.
I did. It seems your definition of “contemporary” is different from mine.
Whatever. No point in arguing with the atheist circlejerk; it’s sad how the good points you have get ruined by your inability to do research and understand context.
“Contemporary” is the period of time where there would be people living who had experienced these events, even if the historian him/herself hadn’t lived to see them.
So…yes, still contemporary.
I can lead a horse to water, but I can’t make it drink.
The sources that do exist were shortly after Jesus’ life, and they were not only consistent with each other, but from radically different sources, including Roman, Jewish, Christian, and even Muslim sources. It’s pretty simple to check the sources against one another and see what lines up.
Scholars generally agree that someone named Jesus of Nazareth existed in Palestine in the 1st century AD. Is Jesus the Son of God? Depends on who you ask, but to say that he didn’t exist at all is being willfully ignorant.
If you sit in a hotel lobby long enough, most properties will eventually kick you out. You can usually get away with it during the day, but you’ll start to stick out more the later in the day it gets. At night, the night auditor probably won’t even let you in the front door.
Pretend like you belong there if you do need to hang out in a lobby for a while, and don’t make a mess.
Source: am former FDA/night auditor.
…He did exist, there are actual historical records. The question is whether or not Jesus was divine and performing miracles.

I prefer the insurance angle, where LEOs have to carry insurance similar to how doctors carry malpractice insurance. Any settlements are paid for by insurance instead of the department; officers who cause problems will have their rates go up, until they eventually become uninsurable.
Wars and rumors of wars.
I feel like that even if you don’t believe in the apocalypse, we’re living in the end times.
Problem is, he was the only person willing to. If there are other witnesses, you can deal with having one who might be questionable, but if he’s the only testimony you have, your case is gonna get torn to shreds.
Have you tried Trepang2? It’s very much a spiritual successor to FEAR, and there’s a free demo for it, too.
They serve it that hot so that it’s less obvious when the coffee isn’t fresh. That way, you can save money by making fewer batches, and the people who are served old coffee won’t realize it until long after they left the drive-thru.
190 degrees Fahrenheit. They served it that hot to make it less obvious that they (usually) weren’t selling fresh coffee.
