Without podcasts I am not sure I’d still use Spotify

I’m really glad this is happening. I will never forget Coby from Daddyofive.
Oh I’ve been watching Sebastian for years! But codebullet was just so funny and light. Sebastian has some humour, sure, but his videos are all about progress, discovery and learning. I appreciate the suggestion though, thanks!
Dialogue is UK English. But I just looked it up and apparently ‘dialog’ is a computer term, but should not be used on its own but rather in combination, such as ‘dialog box’.
I understand that he had reasons. I personally prefer one good video per year over what he outputs now. I used to be a Patreon for years, also in the one where he didn’t post anything. I am prepared to wait for quality, but this is of course an antithesis to YouTube’s algorithm.
Codebullet. Went from absolute gem of niche content to over the top low-effort content aimed at teens, who presumably bring in the most ad revenue.
OP’s username is in German, so it’s probably half-German-English code
I think the one argument for the assumption that we’re near peak already is the entire issue of AI learning from AI input. I think numberphile discussed a maths paper that said that to achieve the accuracy that we want, there is simply not enough data to train it on.
That’s of course not to say that we can’t find alternative approaches
In case you’re curious: Parkinson’s isn’t always the shaking kind (tremors). Many patients experience rigidity and difficulties moving. For example, writing becomes impossible after a while because the hand can’t hold the pen any more. The hand sort of cramps up.
Nah, I don’t know anyone that uses it for dev work. That’s not to say that it doesn’t happen ofc
Windows for Dev is very common actually. And not just for .Net based stuff. Many devs that I know work on Windows. I used all three OS for Dev and I don’t know why Windows is always listed as a nightmare. Maybe fifteen years ago but not now.
This. Been using Windows since 95 and Linux since 2008. Mac is the only thing I tried twice (for two years each) and I just cannot get past this mobile-feeling of not being able to customise basic stuff. Mac GUI is not intuitive for me. It’s good that people that like it can use it. It’s bad that I don’t have any choice as soon as I am on Apple hardware. I find this meme completely tone deaf. The issue with mac isn’t that it lacks Unix features, it’s everything else.
Garcia From Criminal Minds: consider it done 😂
OP can you describe some content of the book and why it changed your perspective? Otherwise why bother sharing.
Reading and writing are no exception. You also need practice to learn foreign languages. It’s not just math
Accurate summary. But I still think that Skyrim is fun, in a different way. But yeah I wish they’d go back to the actual rpg of the Elder Scrolls.
Every year, I google whether it has returned. Losing NewsWipe / Screenwipe is such a loss. Still haven’t touched Black Mirror…
If you see yourself in this meme, here’s two books for you to read:
The first one is specifically about how neglect can manifest itself. If you find your parents love you but you still feel empty or devoid of their affection, this might be useful. Especially good to read when you don’t buy the “depression is just genetic and it just happens to some people” narrative.
The second one is more general about different types of connection and bonding. Very useful to understand where your parents might come from and why they behave(d) like they do/did. Also helps stem the tide against the current internet’s "everyone with bad behaviour is a narcissist " theme
Steve Irvin died from a stingray piercing his heart when he swam close to it. The comic is saying that since he was so enthusiastic about animals, he would not have wanted the stingray to die in order to save him. It was Steve’s own fault, a risk he took many times and it didn’t work out that one time.
