Or I guess you could just compile Firefox yourself and remove the denylist portion of the code. Would be extra funny if they compiled a version specific for France (because why block sites for everybody else?) and put it next to the regular one on their website with text that said oh BTW if you’re in France definitely only download this version, wink wink.
Either way it’s still a software restriction that can be bypassed with other software.
Honestly you could say because you like to talk about tacos and it would get approved most of the time. We have that turned on because otherwise we’ll get 60k spam users overnight. Email verification costs money especially if you’re being spammed with 60k requests and the statement box stops all of it.
But it still doesn’t solve the issue though of being required to look at corporate ads which are designed to increase consumption in order to solve climate issues. We will never be able to advertise our way out of this.
Are there languages that conjugate verbs differently based on he/she instead of just a general usted? That would be untoldly confusing.

You didn’t miss anything, everybody is giving them a pass because they have an old mainframe and until you’ve had to sync one you just don’t know. We all know the reason the government is still using mainframes from the 70s. You mean to tell me there’s no company that’s ever migrated away from a mainframe? It’s always a budget issue. And in the US anything that isn’t military spending is a budget issue.
I mean they clearly got the point that the assignment was all about three digit numbers.
I get unsolicited emails from random sales people every day at Zendesk, GoTo, Salesforce, HubSpot, Adobe, et al not even realizing I’m already a customer and have an account rep.
I love this website, it shows all the communities and instances without any biased filters whatsoever!
The issue is that your and our version of “it” (the fediverse) is most definitely not the same as Meta’s version, where they are the center of the universe and all our communities revolve around them.
Honestly I probably will still get sync pro for Lemmy but Connect is really good and depending on how things go I might keep it.

Yes I’ve been thinking about that recently with the Threads/Meta discussions. Not that I would ask for it, but let’s say all my long lost Facebook friends made their way here? Would I even want to reach out? My guess is probably not or I already would have on Facebook.
The future of Tildes seemed obvious given the experience with reddit so why bother? Kbin pretty much is Lemmy with a different UI. The structure of Lemmy makes sense, basically it is like reddit except the instances add a new dimension which makes much more sense to me. I know lots of people who would enjoy features of reddit, but don’t use it because they don’t identify with the brand of reddit.
As if there’s any secret to Twitter that any person couldn’t figure out, we’re talking about 280 character messages. I hope they both just cancel each other out.
Maybe the way we deal with these tech companies is to build our own fediverse (duh) then keep giving them an ever growing list of federation requirements until they all bankrupt each other trying to take over our club.
And you’ll have to do documentation and everything and then they won’t even use it.
