Do you go outside and use the maps? And navigate in the field with a compass? I am sorry but yes, obviously using a computer program is going to be somewhat similar to playing a video game.
Making maps and using maps are not the same skills.

It’s marginal utility is not worth the energy expenditures.
as someone who grew up playing DnD and video games, and also does navigation in the outdoors for work …
these are two entirely different skill sets be fucking for real lmao
I didn’t miscomprehend, you just disagree with my reasonable assertion that AI is pointless and sucks. Hope this helps!
Scientists analyze data using statistics. I don’t see how and LLM helps with that. And it barely helps with programming, not to the extent that it is worth the impact.
Difference is that AI is absolutely pointless lmao
They’re taking about emissions, not energy use. You have a reading comprehension issue. The emissions are from the energy production. It’s logical to say that a, largely pointless, technology using high amounts of electricity cause emissions through the generation of electricity to power the pointless AI tech.
jfc not everyone is a man
I tried Strattera to avoid side effects from Adderall, but Strattera made me throw up whenever my heart rate got too high. I had to give it up, not to mention it didn’t really feel like it was helping me focus. I now take very small doses of stimulant medication, 5 XR and 5 IR each day.
Eh, don’t worry too much about what “would have been”. I was diagnosed at a young age and still struggled.
Honestly just keeping up with whatever social media is popular with young people is the best way to stay in touch with new music and pop culture.
Nah, tired advice. I was literally on a remote island for most of a year, and missed out on Harambe and clowns and whatever else happened that year. But if you have a real interest in pop culture you stay in tune. Most older people don’t stay on top of it because they don’t care to, which is fine it’s not for everyone.
It is essentially the same thing, but that is the cultural box that we’ve created where it’s normal to keep track of your lifespan. A Death Note style reminder has not been deemed socially acceptable.
It’s objectively weird in the sense that most people don’t do that.
Just set up an app blocker on your phone. There are some that are pretty intense, they work great.
How is Lemmy better than reddit for doomscrolling?
Idk about politics but I know stuff about fire. Catostrophic wildfires can be prevented by making sure there isn’t lots of dead, dry wood… not lots of dead, dry grass. Prescribed fire is the big way to do this, also mowing and landscaping properly around buildings. And most wildfires do have a human-based ignition point as well.
there are definitely cringey liberal boomer memes, they’re all on Facebook.
So you feel alone because you want to make cringey boomer memes and send threatening emails to Churches? I’m confused.
There are militant left movements, but there are just fewer people who align themselves with those movements because Communism and Socialism were basically illegal to talk about for decades, and the conservative fascism is basically just our mainstream government ideology (D or R).
Maybe Netanyahu should have thought about that before he funded Hamas.
Do you? ArcGIS and navigating in the field are not the same thing. I assume you don’t, or else you wouldn’t have brought up a tangentially related skill?
You’re just saying my mind is made up because you don’t have anything to contribute to the discussion lol
