    Afghanistan has been known as a country with a lot of untapped mineral resources. Basically everywhere that China has invested is unstable enough where they’re very unlikely to replay much of their debt with China or pay back anything. A lot of money was spent in Russia in its energy sector and from news coming out that area of their economy isn’t flourishing.

      Yeah I’ve learned a little about China making loans they know will default, which then give them ownership of ports or whatever as a remedy. I think they might be a little over optimistic that these contracts will ever mean anything though. Especially in a place like Afghanistan.
