I actually do read documentation more than I read forums. Check libraries out dude. Theres comments in there on the good ones.
Sometimes, there is no documentation for the problem you’re having, especially if you’re dealing with proprietery solutions.

Using
readelf/objdumpis hardly reverse engineering. Symbol tables are not much more complicated than manpages…But did you try stack overflow?
