    Heritage laws exist in a good number of countries so that all the cultural architecture doesn’t get erased

    Copyright law itself is supposed to be such a law (at least in the US), by the way.

    US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 8:

    To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;
