The French president’s comments were directed mainly at the US and were part of continuing French efforts to revive its call for a ceasefire in Lebanon.

His comments brought a swift response from Netanyahu. “As Israel fights the forces of barbarism led by Iran, all civilised countries should be standing firmly by Israel’s side,” he said in a statement. “Yet, President Macron and other western leaders are now calling for arms embargoes against Israel. Shame on them.”
He’s worried that if France starts being vocal about it that the other blackmailed and bought politicians might feel inspired.
Civilized countries should never be standing firmly with genocide, irrespective of who engages in it.
I dunno, genocide seems pretty barbaric to me.
Good for Macron, but it isn’t happening. The die is cast. Israel won’t stop until Iran’s nuclear program is destroyed, along with Hezbollah and Hamas. The long term plans are likely to occupy the West Bank as well.
If Biden cut off the weapons pipeline right now, Israel would have stocks to continue the war. And Trump might get elected because of it, and he’s actively pro-genocide and fascism.
Israel struck at exactly the right time. The US has no leverage unless and until Harris wins.
Unless Iran can pull a nuke out of a hat this Wednesday.
