Personally, I prefer things I don’t understand because I don’t have to mentally deal with whatever bullshit they are saying. I can sing it a thousand times without ever thinking too much about it because I know the sounds and not the meaning of the words.

I can belt out a ton of Japanese or Russian music, because I started listening to help my language learning (classes, not self-guided), but I don’t actually understand the songs. I “know the words”, but that’s it.

Interesting. My app allows me to have them separate, so I see all the up separate from all the down, and always have. I refused early on to use anything that combines them because I want the full picture of engagement.

If you use an app, check through the settings and see if it’s supported (all the iOS apps I tested have it). Idk about web, might be something to look into tho since the data is all there, so it’s just be a matter of handling.

  • It’s mind blowing to learn that AI/neural nets and the like have been in the works since the 80s… it wasn’t what we know now, but like deep blue, the computer program that won at chess, started development in 1985 and won in 1997 against the world champion (Gary Kasperov). Watson, the jeopardy-playing program, was in the early 2000s.

It’s taken a long time to get from there to the mess we have now, and now it’s all super rush rush… like chill, slow down and do it right.

  • Poisoned husband -daily for months-

Gets probation and no contact order.

Yo, what? When that husband or kid turns up dead down the line they are gunna be all shocked pikachu about it. At the very least she should have been ordered to an inpatient treatment facility and not just some wishy-washy mental health screening.

She actively, daily, tried for months to kill him. Probation shouldn’t be for that kind of premeditation. It should be for “oops I lost my temper” or “oops I wasn’t paying enough attention for a split second”, not this sort of planned out and executed multiply sort of thing.

Edit: I legitimately don’t understand why this is being downvoted when I literally said in my first comment that it’s helpful in some situations, but not worth the hassle for daily use for me specifically. This is elaboration on that as the person I replied to misquoted me in a way that is fundamentally incorrect, and said “pick one” indicating I was being inconsistent, which they have since edited out.

I don’t “feel the need to keep them just in case”, I just have them from when I was getting the prescription filled but not taking them regularly, which was literally last year… I was taking them sporadically enough, because I didn’t find them particularly helpful for daily use, that I just stopped getting them filled due to having plenty for the way I use them, because again from 13-35 I wasn’t on anything. I do use them for when I want to get something specific done maybe once a month, they are prescribed for a reason, but only because I have them because I don’t feel the need to use them regularly…? Sort of circular, but that’s adhd for ya.

The hassle is going to the doc every month, getting a new prescription written, getting drug tested, remembering to take them, dealing with the sleep disruptions, etc. that’s not worth it for me for regular use, when I don’t find them to be all that helpful in everyday situations.

I don’t strictly need it because I’ve figured out ways to work with, rather than against, myself (I graduated with honors from university without meds, it just took longer), and certainly don’t want to take them daily, but for a one-off thing when I already have them? sure. Idk why you think that’s inconsistent…?
