There’s always the weather. I check that plus an app I have for the guages on our local rivers as I am a fly fisherman.

I write down some stuff on a scratch pad like tasks and little things i need to pick up. There’s something satisfying about crossing them off my list. Also when I plan a longer vacation where I stay in multiple places I need to write it out like a calendar with details for each day.
I use text files on my phone for longer term stuff. A Christmas gift list for ideas that pop up during the year, checklists for outdoor trips I plan regularly that i can send to others, a shopping list of fly tying materials (some are hard to find, I stop at various stores when convenient). Also I keep a list of cheap cabins to stay in with links to their websites.
It’s like trying to wipe my ass with a CVS receipt. That’s why I never leave home without my supply of 2 ply
Gift them a video game console. When I was young we must have drove all the neighbors nuts, running across their yards playing sports. My neighborhood now has kids but it’s nice and quiet. Thank you Playstation and Xbox
I can do the same by cupping my hand in my armpit then jerking my arm down like a chicken wing real fast. Is this still a thing? I haven’t been a kid since the 70’s
I’ve done a few trips. When everything is on time it’s a great experience IMO. When it’s running late it can suck. A few things I tell interested people:
Have a different mindset compared to flying. A plane trip is hectic and cramped but it’s over in a few hours, it’s a means to getting somewhere. Your vacation begins when you land. On a train the voyage is part of the vacation. It’s chill and you’ll meet nice people.
Amtrak has a website where you can see where the trains are at in real time. It’ll tell you if they are on time or how late they are running. This is real nice because you can put off going to the station if they are hours late. The first time I rode they didn’t have this yet and we felt trapped.
I got the small room (Roomette I think?) twice. It’s small but so am I. It’s two seats facing one another that fold down into a one person bed. Another bed folds down overhead. I got my parents a full size room for their 50th anniversary. It was nice but they spent their awake hours entirely in the observation car.
In my experience their wifi sucks but may have improved. Download books and movies in advance.
Bring your own drinks and snacks! Two meals a day were included with the rooms.
When I took the Coast Starlight I watched a YouTube video in advance that gave good advice about when and where to sit in the observation car for seeing Mount Shasta.
Safe travels!
I don’t know. People will proudy tell you they are staunch conservative anti socialist, all while collecting a check from the government
Two separate houses on the same lot, one is in the backyard of the other.
Just a couple of years ago I found two houses on Zillow going for $65,000 in Cleveland. A front house/back house situation.
Atlas Shrugged?
A lot of serial killers were cruel to animals when they were young.
My technique as well. I need a distraction from my own thoughts so I turn on something that’s not too stimulating. Definitely no news. Often something I’ve seen before though right now it’s Unsooolved Mysteries. LOTR is a soothing choice
Maybe it’s not about whether the patient takes the medication or not rather you are visually confirming and documenting that they took it or refused it. Should there be a mishap or lawsuit involving this person the hospital would use that person’s reluctance to follow medical advice as a defense. Just playing devil’s advocate here, I’ll bet a lot of hospital policies are written to protect from liability
For those who sleep outside and on the ground I’d say buy them insulated sleeping pads. I have a bit of experience camping during very cold temperatures. Insulating oneself from the ground is as essential as a blanket. Thermarest pads are going for as little as $10 on Ebay to $40 new at Dicks.
Gathering carts was my favorite job when I worked at a grocery store! Fresh air, a break from all the people, help old people with loading their trunk. At the time the cars and carts were still made of metal and shit got scratched up. Now everything is made of plastic and I don’t get the outrage. I got a million problems and this ain’t one of em
90% of the heat will go up the chimney. There’s got to be a better way. My buddy installed a propane heater in his VW Vanagon. He’s a pretty handy guy though
Vampires? Organ thieves? So many other questions here.
Food companies actually fought the law
According to the article his sister has been hospitalized and both her and their mother have a hard time getting work because of being associated with Kyle Rittenhouse. BTW the mother did not drive him that’s a fallacy
