Me: *PTSD’s in SCSI chain
I not sure if this helps you at all but I use Pop!_OS on a Thinkpad with touchscreen. On it I do A LOT of PDF work, including forms and signatures. I have had no problems at all in four years of it being my main system.
Note: I do not use pressure sensitive stylus inputs like the Wacom or iPads use.
I believe a Viagra OD could kill you by crashing your blood pressure.
We all know that what grandpa is actually hearing is a flood of racist and homophobic slurs along with explicit explanations of some twelve year old’s sexual escapades with grandpa’s mom.
I don’t disagree, but that’s not “snakeoil”.
Snake oil is a term used to describe deceptive marketing, health care fraud, or a scam. Similarly, snake oil salesman is a common label used to describe someone who sells, promotes, or is a general proponent of some valueless or fraudulent cure, remedy, or solution.
How is IoT snakeoil? A great chunk of the world’s infrastructure runs on IoT devices. Your electric, gas, and water meters are almost assuredly IoT if you are serviced within the US.
It looks like someone in that thread responded with a solution.
Anyone that’s ever had a “full English” and a plate of chilaquiles or migas with frijoles knows very well that although a “full English” is tasty, a Mexican breakfast platter is divine. Sorry Brits.

Apple gets a free service that would cost an insane amount of money if they were to pay API fees or build their own data centers and models…
All true.
OpenAI gets free advertising by being included in millions of Apple devices.
Also true but woefully incomplete. They also get millions of Apple devices and users to train their models at no cost. When I say you are the product, I mean that Apple sold access to you and everything you do to OpenAI in exchange for OpenAI functionality at no extra charge. I have no doubt that Apple will make a best efforts to anonymize data, but OpenAI absolutely will have deep access.
Because the end user is the product.
As one example of how the US has opted to not divest from progress. The same applies to American infrastructure. The US was very aggressive for many years, then stopped. Stopped investing in science, space, infrastructure, etc. and chose to rely almost entirely on the private sector. In return, we have wasted at least a thirty year lead.
I would like to point out that the Arecibo radio telescope collapsed after many years of neglect and lack of proper funding.
It made me think of this old Michael Keaton movie, “My Life”, in which he leaves a treasure trove of video tapes to his unborn child.
I changed my Twitter/X/Xitter logo to this.
Here is a quick step by step set of instructions on how to do it yourself.
Step 1: Logout from Twitter/X/Xitter, uninstall the app, and delete your account.
Step 2: Install Mastodon, select a server that matches your tastes, and created an account.

What an unexpected turn of events.
In most cases the cut-off is six months, not a year.
LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition) is a wonderful self-hosting platform.
