Yet, for some unknown reason some treat it as a rite of passage.
I have been using a t450 for the past 5 years as my only pc. For about 4 years I used Arch without any major issues, but my “optimizations” became too much to maintan. For the past year I’ve been using Kinoite and it’s brilliant.
Everything runs good enough out of the box and in my daily use I haven’t noticed that I’m running a 9 year old machine. I even play games that should have no business running on that crusty old thing. Also, the stability is divine.
Abed, is that you?
Nokia n70. Still think about it sometimes, it was a great little phone.
“Fat is carbohydrates and people who don’t eat fat get carbohydrate deficiency which causes obesity. You need lots of carbohydrates to stay healthy, so eat fat!” - old man in my office block
You’re not wrong Walter, you’re just an asshole.
Why not both?
(Couldn’t coun a proper portmanteu)
Windows equivalent of 80s nostalgia music genres. :)
Awesome! Do you know if there is a free (as in free-range) addon that deletes my resolv.conf file as soon as I open the browser? I think that would be a prudent extention to the input blocker, so that the risk of visiting a site is minimal.
Absolutely valid points and I get your choice. Used to hop browsers for about a decade before I settled on firefox, not because of the privacy aspect, it just felt cozy. I guess I’m getting old, I can’t really tell the difference between performance anymore, all browsers feel fast enough. Honestly, didn’t even think speed would be a concern.
…and I’m sure firefox would be a lot less glitchy if I didn’t insist breaking every single page with noscript. Now, where’d I put my tinfoil hat
Is it less usable than librewolf? Because if it is, I’m in!I’ll just connect through 3 tors, an onion and a carrot, just to be sure.
I can see the new EU directive about labelling chromium based browsers, haha.
Probably the only good reason not to get going right away. And honestly, if this was the case with everyone else, then I’d have no problems waiting a little longer, but so far my experience is that waiting is usually fruitless in these situations.
I like your approach.
My protocol is:
1.) Stop at red light being the second car in the row
2.) Casually rest thumb on horn button
3.) Vibe till traffic stops, observe vehicle up front for breaklights going off, any movement or judder signaling the driver is getting ready, on/off system restarts the engine, etc.
4.) If any effort is observed: feel content and have faith in my fellow man
If no effort is observed: as soon as the light turns green, flash once, observe response for 1 second. If no effect, lay on the horn until vehicle starts moving. Overtake at next opportunity, because there are a lot of lights and ahead and this is a clearly distracted driver, so keep distance.
I saw some video of an infuriatingly positive and giggly guy mod his horn this way. To add insult to injury iirc (which is about 50/50 after so many years) he used an arduino to do it. Video got a gazillion likes and many supporting comments. It unexpectadly became the last straw before deleting my facebook account.
I know… I’m no fun.
Isn’t there maybe a way to keep the factory os and selectively disable google services. Sort of no-script style? Not too familiar with the android ecosystem tbh, other than google is on top of the food chain, haha.
