I do not trust any company, even if it is “privacy-friendly” or “anonymous”. There is no way to proofe this, sure I could view the code but there might just be a slight possibility that the company is saving and stealing your data.Self-Hostinmg is for me the way to go.

Its very cool and I love the minimalism. I love, that I have so many choices. I can choose what OS I want, I can choose which Watchface I wanna flash and so on.
Are VPNs in the UK getting banned? If e2ee is getting banned for “online safety,” many apps are at risk, but doesn’t that mean that you could just install the apps via a VPN?

If you like a Smartwatch-like experience, just try out the PineTime. Been using it now for 5Months and it’s been great so far.

Definitly Flatpaks. Although snaps have improved since I last used them. But of all I still prefer the good old shell based Package manager.

There’s a privacy-friendly Discord out there called Revolt. Honestly, though, it doesn’t bug me if the chat is on Discord. I will not use it, even if it is on Matrix or Revolt.

It’s big brain time
I never used Instagram. I’ve tried Pixelfed and I don’t quite get it. Sure, you post pictures with captions, but I feel like there is emptiness. When I scroll through my followed users, I just see some art and photographs. I don’t know if I’m doing anything wrong, but Pixelfed doesn’t seem very active for me.
I just recently read something about, that apple needs to use RCS by the end of 2023.
