it’s because solving the challenge of how to do it is fun and interesting whereas actually putting forth the effort in doing it sounds like work and is not fun.

two reasons:

1. because we’re so drained by life that we don’t even have the energy to put forward to doing an activity that we know will enjoy.
2. we’re so used to having to scrounge together any free time we can get that we struggle to commit to something that takes any amount of time.

“teach” is one of those words in English that has a different suffix for it’s past-tense: it is “taught”.
Eg. “They taught me to sew.”
“teached” is improper.

Note: not to be confused with “taut” which is pronounced the same.
