Had a good wallowing, thinking my life was over. Then slept on it. But yeah - just a refusal to let whatever it was be the end. And to continue not for others but for myself.
They were certainly negligent in not properly assessing McClain (who was already restrained) prior to ketamine admin. Once ketamine was given, they then also failed to monitor and recognize cardiac arrest.
This case will likely lead to change in paramedic emergency care protocols.
I sort of feel sorry for the paramedics in the sense that they were too complacent and should have told the cops “no” when they tried to dictate patient care (as in, ‘you need to sedate this dangerous person’). I work in healthcare too, so I’m familiar with cops trying to dictate medical care and the importance of advocating for your pt when that happens. It can be intimidating to tell a cop to fuck off, but sometimes you have to do it. If nothing else, it’s your ass on the line.
Called the cops bc he was wearing a ski mask and therefore looked suspicious
Just looked it up. I like quirky movies and I like the sound of this - it’s going on my list to watch later. Thanks! :)
“Impacts of wolf reintroduction… need to be properly reviewed to avoid unintended negative consequences to the natural environment, wildlife, and people of the impacted communities,”
Pretty sure the wolves are more natural than cattle ranching…
I guess this is a sigh of relief for healthcare workers :D
Or the whole police dropping them off at EDs on bullshit 5150s like we can cure homelessness lol. That’d be great
Seems like a no brainer! And especially useful in dense cities where you don’t want to be stuck idling in a car.
Thread bumping would help a lot actually!
And it’s like what’s next, they’re gonna be bought out by Disney?
Idk about doctors, because it’s more nurses and other staff that strike. But speaking for nursing, we usually give the employer advanced notice so they can hire travelers (scabs, but also a necessity so you can’t really hate) to work during the strike dates. /Cue the delicious scramble and shitshow lol.
Also sometimes there’s an agreement to provide X number of employees who are allowed to cross the picket line (we want to strike, but not the bad optics of “selfish nurses killing their patients”).
Not illegal, just very time-consuming bc you half your people each time. So you do all this just for 1 person to give you what, maybe $1000? Lol
P.S. I had to check if I was in the NoStupidQuestions community, sorry OP xD
As a Californian who also works in the ED, there are levels to mental illness. Clearly you haven’t seen the worst of it.
Anecdotal, but I’m currently touring in the Amazon rainforest and our guide was SO excited to finally see a poisonous frog, which we thought was curious. According to our guide, they’ve been rarer to see. =\
I believe it starts with Gen Z. Millennials are getting too comfortable, too safe, many have families and more to lose. Revolution is a game of young men. The problem is it requires a wise leader with vision, likely elder, manipulating and pulling the strings. And it’s so hard to be heard nowadays. You’d basically need the movement to go viral.
Oh wow, sounds like he freaked out and confided with Masterson that night. Interesting context in light of this character letter controversy and as far as their relationship goes.
This is why I pretty much never jump into water - the force of it shoots the amoebas up your nose. Definitely avoid (forcefully) dunking your head in warm water.😬
The U.S. doing business with Mexico over China is great. Some pros I can already think of:
With increased transport using rails, it’d be easier to smuggle shit, therefore you’d think the cartels would be more cooperative. Which means less violence, less turf wars, etc.
Better for the environment. Much less fuel to transport stuff.
If Mexico’s economy improves, a lot of the illegal immigrants that would normally come to the U.S. would probably go to Mexico instead (closer, similar in culture and language).
Pretty much can’t think of a single con, other than prices going up a little bit. It’s worth it.
Sometimes I get called out for pacing around when it’s like no! I’m actually doing stuff… except I’m being forgetful and inefficient so I keep having to backtrack >_<
